ROMs

I have experienced these in the past so I figured to ask this question.

Have you experienced any or all of the following:
a) You have a lot of ROMs on your flash cart. You haven't started on any of those games so you decide which one to play. You then find it hard to decide which game to play first and you judge a game by the longevity, the controls and the difficulty. You end up being indecisive, hence turning off the DS and leaving it to one side.

b) You have finished at least half of the games in your flash cart and you think that you might as well replace those games with newer ones. You can't decide which one to get so you consult review sites or maybe the DS Essentials list.

c) You/someone mess up a minor thing in the game (i.e. you never knew you could get that certain thing earlier in the game) and you have the "urge" to delete the save file.

d) Of all the ROMs in your flashcart, you only play 1-3 games in there everyday and the rest, occasionally.

I was A and struggled to finish and enjoy games bar a few.

Changed my habits in the last few months and imposed some rules on myself like if I don't play a games I'll delete, if I don't enjoy it I'll delete, don't have more then 20 Ds games at a time. Currently got 17 DS games ( most are puzzles games and arcadey games for quick gratification) ans five GBA games and that's more then enough for me. Some of the DS games I haven't even created save files. I had steal princess on there for two months and never touched it.

Now I'm enjoying my games more and finishing them especially as I don't spend time on games I think are bad. Last week I finished TWEWT, NSMB and Time Hollow and got a lot of satisfaction out of it. Now I'm fairly close to finishing Mother 3 having started it last week. There are a lot of games I want to play but I make sure I don't try playing 8 games at once. You lose so much enjoyment by doing because you don't give each game the time it needs to entertain you.

Yeah, I'm experiencing this as well, no matter how hyped and happy about some game I am, I slowly loose interest in it if I'm able to play other games (even tho I'm not so interested in them)..[/quote]
A pirate curse :creep:

But yea, A for me =/

This, only it's all a little lower on the frequency scale. I play one or two titles occasionally, and the rest, never. Everyone goes through this phase. The more ROMs you have, the less enthusiastic you are about playing. When you have only one game, you play it and play it and squeeze every bit of content out of it, unlock everything, then delete the saves and start over with a new character. When you have a thousand games.... meh. You don't play anything, and those you do you play halfway through and leave aside.

Pirate Syndrome for me too. Thats why I'm gonna buy Scribblenauts. That way I'll actually give it the time it deserves. Even when a game is crappy that you bought, you feel obligated to play it as much as you can.

A and D, but mostly D. The only games I play right now are Tetris and Starfy. I have like 10 games but only play 2, 3 occasionally.

am i the only who thinks C. i played super mario rpg and accidentally sold a seed beacuse it was worth 200 points (or whatever currency). it turned out i needed that for the best weapon in the game, so i restarted. i know, ITS REALLY WEIRD but i have OCD

A and D. Like almost everybody else. IN the end I just hold down on the dpad, close my eyes and press a when i feel like it.... that's how I choose my games these days. =P

D

Usually when I play my DS is at bedtime so a casual game always wins -- usually Peggle.

Have been wanting to play something more in depth for a while now (CTDS, M&L3, etc) but fear that I won't complete it...

Defiantly only play a few games, and I get angry when deciding what games to play and sometimes end up just scrolling through the list and pick one and play for 5 minutes then play a different game and its all really unsatisfying. Same problem I have with my iPod touch. Now that I can get every app for free, I suddenly dont want to play any of them. I sometimes wish I could have the flashy thing used on me like in Men in Black so I could forget piracy and just enjoy the games I have.

After looking at your avatar and reading your post, I without thinking thought you were actually Reggie talking on the forum but it was like a dream where it was just normal. I need to go to bed ...

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
