For a while now I have been thinking about learning how to play the piano. Watching those cool youtube video's where they play in public or just online doing song requests. And other related video's....it just always looked amazing somehow. Last week my niece was telling me she wanted to learn guitar...and then I made the decision to actually attempt learning the piano! So now she is learning the guitar and I am learning piano...and maybe in a few weeks or months we can play something simple together. right! 
If I get good enough on the piano and can read sheet music and play something new form just that....than I might try the guitar myself. Not expecting this to happen in less than 6 months but at least it's a goal to work to right? The main reason I wanted to learn piano anyway is because with a MIDI keyboard you can actually imitate a lot of instruments...if not all of them with just the press of a key! And compared to a guitar all the notes are already in front of you! But I do need to find an app that can imitate the 80's style of synthesizers....preferably for Linux and/or android!
And I thought that if I know how to play the piano....I might learn how music in general works. And with that I might understand better how to use it in a new game...possibly...sometime. At least it should give me some insights in to what it all means with those magical music notes and things like that.
What I at least would like to play in a short time...is the Zelda theme! Then super mario, Pirates of the Caribbean, and possibly some other popular songs that might just sound cool on piano. So far I only know a couple of notes of Alan Walker's Faded and a little bit of "the entertainer". It's enough to recognize the songs but they are missing the bass...since I can't sync my left and right hand yet! But either way....I have only been doing this for a few days and maybe a total of 4-5 hours. So it's good enough I guess.
