Nintendo expects the Switch to continue strong for the next few years, has "strong lineup" of upcoming games

dsdadsdsa.png

Doug Bowser, CEO of Nintendo of America, discussed the Nintendo Switch and plans for the future, in an interview with the Associated Press. Even though the Nintendo Switch is seven years old now, Bowser is confident that the console will continue to perform well, with Nintendo "feeling bullish" about sales. According to him, there's also a "very very strong lineup" of games coming soon, teasing that Nintendo will plan on supporting the Switch for years to come. Beyond that, when asked about whether or not Nintendo has a "Switch Pro" in the works, he simply responded with, "One of the things we look at always is how can we surprise and delight. How can we introduce new unique ways of playing. That´s always in front of our mind."

I should be careful about what I personally would like to see (in a new Switch). But what I can share is that one of the reasons that even going into year seven we feel very confident that the Switch can have a strong performance over the next few years is that it is still truly that unique device that you can play in a variety of ways, at home, on the go. One of the things we look at always is how can we surprise and delight. How can we introduce new unique ways of playing. That’s always in front of our mind.

Innovate, as in cant be arsed and just port all the same old crap from the past consoles?

Milking them as in Mario kart 8, same shit as before but if you want new content, you have to pay for it as DLC.

BOTW a massive empty map with repetitive shrines, actual content, again paid for as DLC and they admitted the fact they had far too many ideas to add to this empty game that it would have been too much DLC.

So they used this as the foundation to milk the clearly paid for over hyped first game, to make another and can bet its given to loyal fanboys that cant say anything bad about nintendo and will all overhype it, or pay for it.

Pokemon is another example. God, arceus litrally felt like BOTW recycled, even its sounds, but threw pokemon into it, then later crap out another game exactly the same, but this time with actual content and shit to do.....

Copy/paste? Open your eyes will ya, nintendo have copy/pasted/recycled the same games since they started way back in the 80s.

And as you are a loyal fanboy, you go ahead and contradict yourself.

[...]
I sense a lot of frustration and disappointment.

This reply is a little too hostile for my liking, also I did not say nor insinuate most of the stuff you injected in my post... but anyways, this is a lot of text and effort, so I think you DO care for Nintendo franchises and have kind of the same hopes as me, for them to take their beloved formulas and make something more with it. Lets hope this is what they are going to do.

By the way: never preorder. Avoid digital releases if there is a retail release (then you can sell them if you don't like them). And most importantly, watch some gameplay first and read some non-commercial reviews before buying, and if it is not for your liking, have the guts to skip the title. This will save you a lot of frustration.
I did this with many new titles and this way still keep enjoying the older Nintendo titles. Paper Mario Origami King and Metroid Dread as two most recent examples I skipped.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC is Mario Kart 9. Why does no one gets it
The last release of the Mario Kart DLC ends at the end of this year - I think it's done on purpose.

The New Switch is supposed to launch at the end of this year. Since Zelda is no longer a launch title for the new console, they will be using Mario Kart 9. It's a much bigger selling game than Zelda BotW, so it will give a big boost to the console's launch.

MK8 came out 9 years ago, I believe Nintendo has already developed MK9 for a while and saving it for the new console. Just like what they did with Zelda BotW, it was already made 2 years before Switch was launched.

The Switch brand or the Switch' hardware? The hardware itself is already way behind, even by last gen standards. I see them losing AAA support/ports in the near future (within this year), let alone next few years, apart from Indies maybe..

Oh, you mean Mario Kart Tour?
Yeah, it was release in 2019. So, been playing MK9 for like, 3 years now.

what reality do you live in? lol
In one where Xenoblade is a good game, a good franchise and a good selling point for Nintendo.

Ain't a good idea to skip on Dread tbh
Origami King can be considered quite divisive I think, Dread is considered a masterpiece and a must-play. I do think you should consider getting a used copy. When Nintendo does something good with their franchises it deserves a chance

(if you don't like it that's fine I just felt the need to do my Metroid propaganda)

Sorry but I think you're delusional, and twisting facts. BotW was not finished 2 years before the Switch launched. And are you aware Mario Kart 8 is a Wii U game originally ? And what about Mario Kart Home Circuit ? Do you think Nintendo has unlimited resources ? They can barely release a few cheap original games each year to support their console, do you actually believe they can develop and hold off major releases like that for years ?

Are you aware that it's a mobile game?
So ? Mario Kart DS or Mario Kart 7 are handheld games but still count. And Mario Kart Tour is still probably making much more $$ than Nintendo could hope for with an actual Mario Kart 9. Releasing MK8 DLC is just a cheap way for Nintendo to keep milking their best selling Wii U Switch game because they have no plans for a follow-up.

I'm expecting an announcement by 2024.

At most very late in 2024, since, Nintendo wants more Switch sales despite being the third best selling Videogame console of all time.

Besides people wanting an OLED Zelda model with Tears of the 70 bucks included, only way I can see to boost sales is as I said a Switch model with more Ram.

I was planning on buying a Special Edition OLED Switch of Zelda TotW, 'cept, the trailer really killed the hype for me. :(

I know I sound like a broken record, but it just looks like DLC for BotW. :(

I'll gladly bet $100 it'll be on the successor of the Switch.
Every game will run on the New Switch better than the old Switch (better is better even slightly better counts), to know this is to know that Nintendo learn their lesson about New 3DS exclusive being so stupid.

The New 3DS is the best 3DS Nintendo ever made. I bought more than one. That is how much I love Nintendo. It wasn't Nintendo's fault that many can't tell the difference.

If only they spend some of the time they waste on HOS stability updates on new IP .... I would be happier.

If only they'd make an add-on to play DS/3DS card games on Switch "2" and why not GB/GBC/GBA cartridges, too! It'd sell a ton!

I expect a bit of slow down, but better than Xbox sales. If they could pull off a price drop sales would pick up. A $199 switch would make a huge difference for parents.
