Cannot transfer sav from mGBA to Virtual Console

I cannot do this no matter how hard I try, Ive went into sysnand virtual and found the save file for the Pokemon sapphire vc, and when I try to inject my save file from mGBA it says the injection failed. The only time I had success with the injection was when I edited the sav from sysnand virtual and then re-injected it. Does anybody know if maybe with PKHEX you can merge save files without changing every little detail by hand? And if not, does anybody know how to make the VC sav and mGBA sav compatible so that one can replace the other?

iirc this has to do with mGBA appending some RTC info to the end of the save file. You should just be able to use a hex editor to remove the last 16 bytes of the save, though it may mess up anything that uses RTC

Download HxD, open your save file, scroll all the way down, select the last 16 bytes, and press backspace. It'll warn you about it changing the file size, just press Ok.

Make sure to back up your save just in case

Dionicio, thank you so so much!! I've been having a lot of difficulty using traditional methods in injecting my current .sav of Pokemon Unbound to a cia version of the game that I converted using NSUI. I imagine the issues I've seen others around the internet experience in trying to do the same thing likely are having problems if their .sav is coming from mGBA, like you said. Deleting the last line of bytes is the only solution that has worked for me, so thank you. You just saved my 60 hour run.
