Which year do you think the first version (3DS or Wii U) of SSB4 will come out?

I'm excited to hear more about the 3DS version. Having a portable SSB game will just be amazing. :D

Also, it says you'll be able to level up your character on the 3DS version and transfer it to the Wii U version. Is it referring to just the characters in the game, or will you be able to fight as your Mii or something?

I would assume in game characters.

...But that's not to say you won't be able to fight as a Mii. The fact they didn't have one in Brawl kinda surprised me.

Anyone else hoping there will be some sort of 3D movement? I think it would be cool to be able to jump to the background like in a lot of old school fighters, and atleast semi destructable stages are a must, plus the character also shows battle damage, I.e ripped/burned clothing, minor bruses, dirt on the face. Since they were going to put it in Brawl it should be viable on a HD console. And fighting as Miis would be awesome too.

There's already some semi-destructable stages.

I don't really see the need for 3D movement, that's kinda against the entire game's premise. Like adding two layers of stage would just seem like a gigantic annoyance. I'd rather just have a 2.5D brawler.

Also I don't see how showing damage would be worth it at all when you barely see your character close enough to notice it.

Only on a few stages are characters too small to notice things, and I think adding layers would be neat on the 3DS, not all the stages have to have it, and I would rather have some sort of player-made hazhards on all stages, whether its as simple as a broken bridge, or a switch the player hits that makes the stages walls close in, it was just nice to be able to interact with stages in brawl and I would like to see it expanded in 4.

Oops. Didn't think of that from the designing sign. Maybe it's the same levels, but formatted 20% differently from 4 players? I don't know, but I at least liked the 2-player.

No offense but if you're expecting the SSB team to focus that much on single player, then you're kidding yourself.

Not that they're lazy or apathetic, it's just not their focus. It's a multiplayer brawler and just recently did they implement anything past a glorified standard fighting game campaign (go to each stage, beat a bad guy, etc).

Well, they did say the 3DS version would be more individual...

How about some sort of level-up system? How much experience you get is relevent to how much damage you cause before you KO somebody. But if you're already high-leveled, it's easier to cause alot of knockback, thus being able to KO players at low percentages, making it harder to gain experience at all. It would be very rpg-ish.

Which is the exact opposite of the simplistic, accessible gameplay that the franchise is built around. Yeah, can't see that happening.

Eww, no. That's one character that would never fit in.

I was kind of joking, but it would be hilarious if it was an actual character. Her Final Smash: Sing! XD

I think you're confusing "singing" with "shitting".

The last thing I want is SSB to be mobbed by weaboos.

Everyone wants their favorite character in the new Smash Bros. game but are unaware of the things that have to happen to make it possible.

I used to drink alcohol fairly often. Never to the point of it being a problem, but like 2-3 beers with dinner each night, or a few cocktails or glasses of Scotch or something. Started smoking/vaping weed a lot a few years back which killed 90% of my interest in booze. Now I stopped smoking/vaping weed as much and just deal with life the boring way most of the time

I only drank alcohol once and it was by accident

I didnt know it was beer, it was on a juice bottle

Yeah, I'm addicted to smoking, sadly. It's very addictive but I wish I didn't start.

@SylverReZ, you played that Mario flash game called Mario 63?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No, but I've seen it on Vinesauce's stream.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, that game is one of the reasons i met newgrounds bc the full versión of it is in that site
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Also somebody is remaking it

@SylverReZ, the other game where I found newgrounds is new york shark

Spoke to Tom Fulp the other day, if he can find his old Newgrounds site content like the mini Flash animations from the 2000's that played on the portal.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
So far no response, but he did say that he'll find them. Wayback Machine doesn't have em.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, atleast the 1999 versión of pico's school is avaliable (the difference between it, the 2006 versión and the 2016 versión is that the speed of the game depends of the speed of your computer and that it had the og soundtrack)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Another being Pico VS Bear, the original 1999 version before Jim Henson filed a DMCA takedown.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
The 2006 versión was made when the flash portal was made
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Many people thought it was lost, but was discovered that he hid it on the same page.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, although the "secrets" system where the game was has been removed. Also pico vs uberkids had a netplay versión that was shutdown, although the swf file has been found
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Nope. There are two download buttons on the same page, where you can download the original under a file called "bear.exe". "bear2.exe", however, is the updated game in a Flash projector. P.s. this was on the archived Pico page from 2000.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's been there for a long time, too. People who search for lost media don't look hard enough lmao.

@SylverReZ, also the pico 2 demos used to be only for the newgrounds patrons but they are on internet archive too (https://archive.org/download/picos_school_2)

Iirc the demos were removed from newgrounds in 2022
