Am I blind or is there actually no Diablo 3 thread made yet. (EDIT: Oh, there is one on page 3...well, whatever. Start fresh for launch.)

I wasn't that excited for D3 after I played the beta weekend, but I bought it anyway to give 'er a try. Too much nostalgic hype to ignore it I guess.
It's pretty addictive, even if I dislike a lot of the changes made (but at the same time, it has a ton of improvements too).

Post characters and battle tags here. I don't really like grouping, but come hell and very likely inferno, i'll prooobably start looking for people to play with since my squishy wizard ass will start getting liquefied by hordes.

I've been playing quite a bit and I only just hit 37, lol.
I'm the polar opposite. I'm built pretty much entirely for DPS. I only bolstered my defenses a bit when I was getting 3 shot on nightmare.
What kind of gems drop in hell? (and inferno since I assume you've played on it).

Goin' to work now but i'll add both of you (and whoever else posts) when i get back.

The drops are starting to get really nice. But the game seems to be bugged, I'm getting demon hunter weapons almost only
Me and my friends joke about it all the time: "Aaaaaand another bow", when we are about to slay some super special enemy we've been working on for a long time.
Many Champions and Special enemies have over a million hp on hell and take quite a long time to slay.

We've yet to kill Diablo on Hell. But we haven't tried enough I guess. We will grind the secret level first for better gear.

one thing EVER d3 player should do is

use elective mode (it is disable by default)

in the option->gameplay

enable elective mode

the you should be able to set any skill to you hotbar
after you enable it

This might be a good thing to do later on for nightmare etc, but definitely not for normal that you must still be playing if you are level 18. On Normal you won't die even if you just stand and tank the incoming damage, especially not if you use the life steal skill that also increases hatred generation and/or vault to space away from your enemies for the percentual damage increase from the Steady Aim passive.

I'm playing on EU so it's pointless for u to add me since we can't play together unless u want to play with HEAVY delay.

I've been playing on US despite living here in Europe and have mostly had a latency of 180 ms which has been fine. When I logged into the European server my latency was actually higher (200) and when I joined General and asked people what latency they had not one of the 10 or so people that replied had a ping lower than the 180 ms I had on US. Also of those 10 people asked, chances that even one of them were playing from outside Europe are very slim as I asked in German in the German only General channel that I defaulted into after setting the game language to German ( ',' instead of '.' and meters instead of yards master race). The next day my ping was much better at ~50ms, but my point is that people have been playing with around 200 ms and it has been good enough for people not to ragequit.

The actual problem with playing from people from other regions is that characters (and also your friend list) are region limited, so you have to make a new one if you are going to play in a region you haven't played before.

Pretty impressed by your 96% magic find.

Considering it's Blizzard...i'd imagine latency wouldn't be too bad for Europe-US. Now that their servers have calmed down, lol.
Most MMOs can do cross-country just fine, I imagine Diablo 3 should at least be on par.

I couldn't believe it when I found that option. I was looking to see if I could get more hotkey space...but that option was good enough. It'd be so damn annoying playing without that checked. It's a really pointless feature to have the bar locked by default.

Unless you beef up on str for the armor gain and various other things, lol.

I had a close range/melee build for most of the game but decided to switch (and would have been forced to switch in Nightmare) once I hit act 4. Nightmare...stuff just 3-4 shots me easy.

I am aware of how hard they 1-5 hits at nightmare, or inferno(The real deal). But that was meant to enjoy the class. I intend to finish the game on inferno as a witch doctor, not a wizard.

That may be true, but I find it fun to employ a certain level of skill as part of my play style. It's more fun than rapid-fire all the way.

I was getting my ass kicked on NM until I found the secret to godliness...

1: Hydras. God damn hydras. Their damage sounds absolutely pathetic in the description, but damn do they dish out the damage...and most of all they let you kite around while they do all the work, that and I can send them through doors and shit. Then I just disintegrate anything my hydra misses, which isn't much.
2: Trying to make myself less squishy...bad. Pure DPS, aside from energy shield anyway, which rocks. Wizards are going to get 2-3 shot always...if you make 'em less squishy, you bump to about 4-5...and then can't kill anything. Pure DPS + hydra = everything dead before it can even think to react.

Good times, now I don't have to roll a barb like I planned to after dying 5 times in 5 minutes before finding a godly skill build.

After hitting level 35 on my Demon Hunter and plowing through nightmare mode (jewelcrafting is OP as usual), Blizzard decided to close the servers on me.

So I rolled a Wizard. Why do I always pick the hard classes?
