Ah thanks. I've walked straight up to that thing but I didn't think to try the device. There are like 6 routes being blocked by obnoxious npc abuse so it's hard to tell sometimes what opened up.

Hi, I have a problem when i want to start a battle, i can start the game and move around, but when i start a battle my desmume 0.9.9 JIT freezes, does anybody know how to fix this ? Also i'm new to this. Can anybody help me with how to fix this ? I'm playing Pokemon White 2
You could've gotten a psyduck in the same part where you can catch Riolu? I'm sure there's other options too, but I haven't played beyond the first gym because I'm not trying to spoil too much for myself.
A psyduck or azurill before Vibrank City,
Although you do need to evolve azurill to make it water type.

So I went to the bottom of my Pokédex... where I have Keldeo (Edited the wondercard into the rom so I could pick it up) and it was weirdly discoloured in the picture.. then suddenly..
No idea what it says... it happens every single time I go to that entry.

Do you know if Surf is obtainable before defeating Clay?
Bianca hands you the HM for surf as you leave Driftveil City, which allows you to retrieve a Water Stone to evolve Eevee into Vaporeon, by returning to a prior route.
That's my recollection of it at least.
Eevee are found wild in Castelia City, you travel through the sewers and find a secret garden with grass in the shape of a pokéball. They are rare though so be patient.
The water stone is found on route 19, North of Aspertia City. It requires Surf however.
It's incredibly easy.
When you enter the Castelia City Sewers (a mandatory part of the game), you enter from the East-most stairway.
From there the stairway to the Garden is directly West from the East stairway, you only need to run to the left, then up, then left, then down, then up, along the paths.

When you defeat Clay, you have to go South from Driftveil City to participate in the Pokémon World Tournament.
Also I looked it up, it may have been Cheren, not Bianca who gives you it.
Listen, if you wanted to use a Water type to take on Clay's gym, you have other options open.
Ground types are weak to Water, Ice and Grass moves. Driftveil city has a move tutor who teaches Ice Punch too, if you have enough shards.
Although if you go up against a Ground/Steel type Excadrill, it will be weak against Water, Fire, Fighting and Ground, without the ice and grass weaknesses.
