They updated the connector port to Micro USB.. Of the convenience it would have brought if I had waited a few days :(

How do you connect the Sixaxis/Dualshock to an iOS device?

Unless iOS7's gamepad support radically changed things, you need a jailbroken device and Blutrol, which costs $6 I think but works with a plethora of controllers. Even then I kept getting bizarre response issues rendering the whole setup next to useless.

Has anyone found a place to buy the NES-30 version yet? I've read the build-quality of the FC-30 was quite horrendous so I'll wait 'till some reviews arrive before picking this one up.

Have my unit on hand. It's really really nice and is a definite upgrade in comparison to the FC30. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

Only question I have is if there's somewhere I can purchase it that doesn't happen to be aliexpress.
All links on the official site still only link to FC30 models, except for the eBay link which only provides a search for their store name.

That's actually a really good question. I'll be sure to ask them that when I send the review link to them. If I get a better answer I will let you know.

I wound up purchasing from a company called "Supreme Equipment Company Inc.".
It arrived quickly, and is indeed the correct model, not the FC30.

The controller itself feels just like the original NES controller, although the D-pad and buttons are a bit stiffer. Hoping they will loosen up a bit, but it really isn't that different of a feeling.

Those who use a phone case and are worried that the stand won't accommodate their phone, I use a Galaxy S4 with an Otterbox Defender and my phone fits well enough to not fall over.

I was able to test it out with a few games, and I'm surprised by how well it worked. Easy to pair, and detected by every emulator I tested. Note that there is a small but noticeable input delay when working over Bluetooth. it's only 1 or 2 frames but games like Street Fighter will suffer more than others. I haven't tested any touch-only games, but it does have the ability to emulate touchscreen presses using an app available on the official site. If you've used a JXD device before, you know what the app can do.

Upgraded the firmware as well. Unsure if I had to, but it never hurts to be up to date. The process was simple, although you do need to connect the pad in a specific way (holding L+R+Start to power on before connecting via USB).

I'm very pleased with the controller, as I now have a capable mobile controller that can fit in my pocket.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
