I have not played in a long time now. Tried to get back into around august however I am more into team playing. Seems something has happened and now people are soloing more than GW1 players. That's what killed the first gw1 for me. When new players started after the introduction of heroes, they were less interested in group play. It is a shame really. There were legit challenges in the first gw that can require living breathing players, challenges AIs are not always the best for.

Really? That sucks balls. I liked soloing in GW1, but honestly I also liked team play. It's a shame that people now solo in a game where you can actually find other players. GW1's servers are almost completely dead anywhere outside the social pre-searing. I'm thinking about making a pre-searing character only and hanging there for a while.

It was too shallow and casual to hold my interest sadly. The game is pretty much entirely appealing for PVE and exploration aspects, and i'm a PVP gamer.

Last time I played was when they had the weird platformer game within the game. Forgot what they called it, but it was pretty neat.

Those platforming areas are hidden throughout the whole game. Each one can be done once a day for a treasure chest, unless they changed it.

I didn't even feel like the PvE exploration was any good. It was as if what I was experiencing wasn't unique with all the other players roaming around. That's where I feel instance based exploration takes the victory. To me, it feels unique to myself and my party.

The discovery was gone when they removed the variety of skills. Then they dumbed down the rest of the battle system and turned it into just another MMO. Even the world feels off. The people don't feel like who they were before. The creatures of the world don't feel the same. It just doesn't feel like Guild Wars to me. There are plenty of games that pull off the time skip aspect while maintaining world feel. Luckily, ANet has made GW1 easier to play solo, so I can still enjoy GW1.

They announced the base game is going free when the first expansion goes on sell. From my understanding, they planned this from the beginning. Each expansion isn't going to need each other to be used however they still require the base game. Apparently they did this to save on time and money on development cost.

Just wait until you get to the level 80 zones and experience the zer- I mean wonderfully crafted endgame. :glare:

I used to drink alcohol fairly often. Never to the point of it being a problem, but like 2-3 beers with dinner each night, or a few cocktails or glasses of Scotch or something. Started smoking/vaping weed a lot a few years back which killed 90% of my interest in booze. Now I stopped smoking/vaping weed as much and just deal with life the boring way most of the time

I only drank alcohol once and it was by accident
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
I didnt know it was beer, it was on a juice bottle

Yeah, I'm addicted to smoking, sadly. It's very addictive but I wish I didn't start.

May just order a 5700g for a nas/emulation set up tbh

@SylverReZ, you played that Mario flash game called Mario 63?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No, but I've seen it on Vinesauce's stream.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, that game is one of the reasons i met newgrounds bc the full versión of it is in that site
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Also somebody is remaking it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Spoke to Tom Fulp the other day, if he can find his old Newgrounds site content like the mini Flash animations from the 2000's that played on the portal.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
So far no response, but he did say that he'll find them. Wayback Machine doesn't have em.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, atleast the 1999 versión of pico's school is avaliable (the difference between it, the 2006 versión and the 2016 versión is that the speed of the game depends of the speed of your computer and that it had the og soundtrack)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Another being Pico VS Bear, the original 1999 version before Jim Henson filed a DMCA takedown.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
The 2006 versión was made when the flash portal was made
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Many people thought it was lost, but was discovered that he hid it on the same page.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, although the "secrets" system where the game was has been removed. Also pico vs uberkids had a netplay versión that was shutdown, although the swf file has been found
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Nope. There are two download buttons on the same page, where you can download the original under a file called "bear.exe". "bear2.exe", however, is the updated game in a Flash projector. P.s. this was on the archived Pico page from 2000.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's been there for a long time, too. People who search for lost media don't look hard enough lmao.

@SylverReZ, also the pico 2 demos used to be only for the newgrounds patrons but they are on internet archive too (https://archive.org/download/picos_school_2)

Iirc the demos were removed from newgrounds in 2022
