Hi all,

My Wii U is on firmware 5.1.2 E, and my Yoshi Wooly World disk wants me to update.
What firmware is on the disk? Does anyone know?

Should I update? Will I loose exploits?

What should I do?

Help!

it may not give you the answers you were looking for, but there's no need to start a new thread when you could have asked it in that thread.

Thank you kindly!
Hold on dude with your updating, your from Australia I know the wiiu UK disc version is on 5.3.2 but I suppose yours will be the same, not totally sure though??? When was it released in Aussie land that would help? you see my thinking is, if it was released a little later than here, it may still have 5.4.0 on the disc update! its a touch & go scenario! but I suppose if your a dancing radish bunny as you say, it would not really matter to you! :P

So did it work? Have you sold the disc? UK PAL releases are common in Australia, I have been thinking of buying just in case (with "3" in the bottom right corner instead of the 'G' for general audiences) but if the fix worked for Schizo there's little point. I am also concerned that more recent discs of YWW may contain the new update so at this point I am hesitant to buy because it really is a lottery of which update is contained in the disc. If anyway has a 5.3.2 update disc lying around I'll buy for at least the price you paid to save the uncertainty. Currently I have 5.1.2.

All PAL game discs are the same because what differs is the rating logos on the covers, some have PEGI, USK, ACB and a weird plain white one.

I was concerned after Reecey stated that some Australian PAL discs might have the more recent 5.4 update. And now five months later I'm thinking they could all be updated to 5.5.0. So I'm wondering whether the update depends on the time the game is released and what PAL region it is released in. I understand any PAL disc will work, but I want to update to 5.3.2 and if I blindly accept the update I will put myself at risk. If anyone else had luck, or came across a seller with 5.3.2 update disc let me know (I'll be grateful to buy or borrow so I can update). Obviously I haven't updated my machine since 5.1.2 waiting.

Recent prints may come with a newer firmware so if you're concerned about what OFW it comes with then maybe a used copy in excellent condition should do it. Besides, the Club Nintendo Points are worthless now since the website has been shutdown.

I don't mind using a disc which has been used before to update. If anything I prefer it because at least I know what I'm getting. It's difficult to source second hand discs in my country though (hardly any listings on eBay). And if I do I will have to contact the buyer and ask when he/she purchased the disc. Many I'm guessing would've either purchased it recently, or purchased it off an auction site (with no way to tell how old it is or what OFW is on it). Knowing how important not updating is I have held off the trigger until now, but seeing this thread gives me hope there is a gated way I can update to 5.3.2 but no further.
