5.4 still has the ppc kernel exploit 5.5 doesn't, so if someone on 5.4 wants to be able to use the ppc kernel exploit at some point they don't want to update. 5.3.2 already has a fully working ppc kernel exploit and as hykems exploit will also work on 5.3.2 nobody on that FW should update.
You completely forgot that IOSU can do everything PPC kernel can do.
A 5.4.0 webkit exploit will be out with IOSU as @Hykem stated, so it is safe to update.

It would be really wise if you stop telling people it's safe to update.
Maybe you decided to update your 5.4.0 but that's your choice, let people decide on themselves, nothing is sure regarding the upcoming exploit. 5.4.0 currently has more available entry points, so while it's possible to update anytime, the safest is to stay on 5.4.0 because the opposite is still impossible.

There's no difference between 5.4.0 and 5.5.0, just different kernel exploit, so if IOSU for 5.5.0 gets released first, it would be stupid to stay on 5.4.0.
Doesn't Xenoblade Chronicles X require Firmware 5.5.0 to be able to be played? Heard something like that. Or is it possible to ignore firmware requirements for games like that with the kernel exploit?
I'm now waiting for new infos on the IOSU Exploit and my 5.4.0. Until then Xenoblade sits patiently on my shelf.

This is not the first time you use your own personal opinion to define what's stupid/dumb and what people should do or not.
In this kind of situations, the most reasonable thing to do (that's if you care about sharing information) is telling people objectively, what are the advantages of 5.4.0 especially since there's no IOSU exploit in your hand at the moment and you have no idea what vulnurability it uses and how it works...
Hykem said he's preparing an entry point for 5.4.0 and 5.5.0 users, there is a possibility that it would be more stable on 5.4.0 so while you can always update if you want later, the vice versa isn't possible now.
So yeah, I would encourage you to stop telling people what they should do with their consoles based on your own opinion and choices.

Advantages of 5.4.0:
Nothing, because the webkit exploit will most likely be released with IOSU, so 5.5.0 will most likely have webkit and IOSU at the same time, and remember that IOSU can do anything PPC kernel can.

This more like a fact than an opinion

Ok I really don't wanna start a useless debate here again,

But atleast for other users watching the thread.

Facts :
- 5.4.0 has a working OSDriver exploit, which is already used on 5.3.2 for all the cool stuff the scene has (loadiine, cafeiin, tcpgecko, wup installer.......) only thing needed to trigger it is a working webkit exploit, which Hykem is planing to release with IOSU anyway.
- You can always update to 5.5.0 when you want using a game disk, while if you update now you can never comeback to 5.4.0 once you find out you can't use IOSU exploit for some reason, or that it's less stable..

Dude... You do know that exploits are not homogeneous, even if they achieve the same purpose, right?
They have earlier on stated that the userland exploit they had for lower firmware versions, it was more stable than the one for newer firmware versions.

I think it would be wise for everybody to stay on the firmware the are on until something actually is out for the public..
Unless ofcourse you really cannot wait and need to upgrade for some reason..but if you complain about things later on, it is on you.

This is no lack of confidence but it is still not known exactly what will be possible when the IOSU exploit is out.
I personally do not see the problem here.. HYKEM already announced it will be out shortly...what is the problem with waiting a few more days, or even weeks?
