Yes, it can be done with 5.5.1 IOS that's not the problem.
Before getting to install HBC, you need one of the compatible Wii games and execute the exploit for that game, only then you can install HBC.

Couldn't understand the translated tutorial? https://translate.google.com/transl.../threads/full-vwii-softmod.339899/&edit-text=

Things you must have before starting:

One of these wii games:

Lego Batman
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
LEGO Star Wars - The Complete Saga
LEGO Indiana Jones - The Original Adventure
Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's Wheelie Breakers
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

SD non-HC card (2Gb)

Wii remote (It can be the Motion Plus one).

Ok, you need this instead of Lego Batman files, just like in the tutorial:

It should look like this:

Hello everyone, this place seems like the right place to make my question. I want to install the homebrew channel on my WiiU's Wii mode, however, I'm using a external hard drive to storage digital WiiU games. Now, my question: can I use the same hard drive to put the Wii games for the Homebrew? Or do I need to buy another one to use on it?

Thank you very much,

It will do. I use a FAT32 formatted flash drive, but i know it also works in NTFS.
In my case, wii-u mode keeps nagging for format the drive, so i use USTEALTH.

Create folder on root/wbfs and place the files there. CFGUSBLoader uses gameID on the iso name. Ex: D://wbfs/Super Mario Galaxy [RMGP01].wbfs

If you formatted your drive with your Wii U to put your Wii U games that you bought on there, you cannot use that drive for anything else. It formats the drive with its own proprietary file system. You will have to use a separate HDD formatted in FAT32 to use on the vwii side with back loader such as wiiflow or usb loader gx

Hi everyone and thanks to make this possible !

Now I'm a noob with the Wiiu (5.3.2 Mario 3D installed) I just received for the kids (last time I hacked a console was Xbox 1 and PS3). :)
I mainly want to play Wii backup up game from USB drive as well as old games.

I tried to follow carefully to follow the Definitive Guide at : https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-definitive-guide-to-wii-u-hacking.396828/
Up to : How can I access the hacks online?
* Anything I tried to install from : http://www.wiiubru.com/532 give me a black screen or the wiiu browser was stuck at some point. Most of the time I had to unplug the Wiiu and restart.
* I got 404 on http://exploit.foxmcloud.net/wiiu/
* At http://wiiu.epiclper.com/ I tried to install the multi-kernel and it said i have it already (yeah!) but then I tried the Homebrew and it redirect me to exploit.wiiubrew.net/hbl/payload532.html where I the wiiu get stuck again. :(
* Another 404 at http://wj44.bplaced.net/
* At http://fix94.no-ip.org/wiiu/ I got scared and stop it here. :)

Any lead to achieve to get it done right (again I'm just looking to play backup games on my 5.3.2) will be really appreciate.

    I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.

    I don't care about the square screen it's just nice to hold something you don't have to stretch your arms a foots length

    All these things expecting to be super huge is overrated just run a type c cable to your TV if you want a big display or in my case screen mirror it

    Ken unless the games are made for that screen size most suck on a screen that size... Having a square screen and being brighter and higher res helps but it's not a cure all, text is tiny bullets are tiny, your.... Well lol
