If I find a trick to downgrading from 11.3 I will let everyone know I currently working on a solution to downgrading from 11.3 there has to be some type of bypass Nintendo hasn't patched

Says they are working on a brand-new exploit: Check

No evidence provided: Check

Just joined today: Check

Not even 18 yet: Check

Well this doesn't seem suspicious at all.

R.I.P rxtools, we should pay our respects though, it was the first Freeware cfw.
i could be wrong, but didnt luma start from rx source?

Nah, Luma started from Reinand (it used to be called AuReinand).

RXtools was based on Cake CFW and some other things from other CFWs at the time were merged in later on (Reinand was based on bits of Cake as well).

What's the status on the payload? Frustrating how updates break use of NTR and the Homebrew Channel.

I can tell you asking for an ETA is even more frustrating to the developer than NTR breaking for you.

As a software dev myself - please just wait it out. It'll be better for all of us in the end.

Smea confirmed on his twitter it'll be more than a few modifications to the existing payload as Nintendo are now attacking the Homebrew payload itself, more than patching out the exploits it uses (as there's so many exploits out there - it's far easier to just attack the payload itself).

I guess what I'm wondering is, will we even be able to get the payload, or has this update complicated things? It'll be a bit of a bummer if I was too hasty with my update and no longer can ever use NTR again.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

BootNTR Selector works fine with 11.3, just update to 2.5.

Oh snap, I didn't think to update BootNTR!

We'll get an update, yes but Smea confirmed on his Twitter page that Nintendo are now targeting the Homebrew launcher/Payload itself over the exploits it uses to launch (because there's so many exploits to patch). He said it won't be the usual 'fix', and that it'll be longer to get working again after Nintendo's pulled their usual shenanigans on it.

I have a few questions regarding GSPwn

  • 3DBrew says they added 4 new codes for GSP but for N3DS, how did they patched it for O3DS?
  • For people with A9LH, would it be able to patch those new codes with CFW? Or it needs a system title to be patched?
Thanks for anyone who helps me clear this stuff up! :)

Why does everyone flip there sht over an update 0-0 we have nand backups and a9lh

Because knowing Nintendo's past update history - it could result in our 3DS's being fancy bricks (modded and non-modded alike).

They've already done that with modded (and unmodded Wiis with update 4.2) and the WiiU (where the system bricked if the power was disconnected suddenly) so it's best to hang back and see what others say as a Nand backup won't help you with a full brick unless you use a hardmod.

not really flip out, but each new update provides a chance for something important to us being patched. its not that they want to create 30 billion threads asking if its safe, its just smart to hold back an update and ask. in fact, asking before updating is the smartest thing to do because of brick potential;

golden rule of modding:
Think before you act! :teach:

i'd actually be surprised if someone goes to the trouble of patching rxtools to work even if its a half assed one, stubborn rxtool users will be that far stubborn :/

I remember seeing a thread where someone was taking the painstaking approach to updating RXtools to use A9LH etc. Even with that, the stubborn fools still using pre-A9LH methods to boot it still won't be happy that their Utopia hasn't returned properly (Enough with the "If it ain't broken.." nonsense. It was broken with Sun/Moon, and this is a sign it's 100% broken. Move on).

Anyway, how was RXTools patched anyway? I can't seem to find anything apart from "In your face, stubborn users!" posts and "It's patched" threads.

to be fair, i dont think they were exactly targeting RX, but rather gateway, and ended up patching rx along the way because way more people have gateway then RX nowaays

pathetic as in rxtools needs to stay dead. Simple as that.
It's basically a completely new CFW that can boot into rxMode and has some stuff rxTools had.
It's not rxTools at all, again it's a completely different thing but it has SOME code to boot into rxMode.

If anything, he's trying to do what rxTools left behind and trying to make it more modern and simpler. No need to talk shit about it, just because it has "rxTools" in the name it does not automatically mean it's a completely copy of it
