@bubble2k16 Thanks for this latest update! The UI looks much better, as do the corrected aspect ratios.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I feel it would also be a major visual improvement: do you plan to add 3D slider support? :creep:

@bubble2k16 Everything looks great so far. I really like the UI adjustments, the Settings page is very clear now, and it all looks very nice and professional. The TV-mode scaling looks good, I had a quick play with Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, which has circles all over the place (title screen, options screen, transformation scenes), and everything's looking just right. (It's not a bad game, either, I recommend it to anyone who wants to play a sort-of all right brawler with some pretty nice music.) I've noticed the Auto-Save bug being fixed, too, thanks for that. Kirby's Dream Land 3 is looking good, too, I floated around up top a bit just to see how things are looking, and everything's nice and smooth. You've done a brilliant job on this.

I played around with it and I have to say that this is amazing, MAJOR improvement over the old scaling methods even if still not as good as it could be on PC obviously.
Did the 2x scaling and then downscaling method not pan out, or are you planning it for post 1.0 support?
I'm rather fond of the new "Tempesta" font, not sure if it's the original one that was used before you added Arial, but it's definitely the sharpest looking of the three.
Congrats on this, looking forward to official release.

I noticed that VLDC8 runs VERY slow even on the PC version of snes9x 1.43, @bubble2k16 do you happen to know why does this happens?

@bubble2k16 Remember when I said this?, now it is working at full speed (with some minor hiccups when choosing a level) on O3DS :D

@bubble2k16 Appreciate your work man! Currently this is my favorite piece of software on my o3DS. I noticed with the most recent build that almost all the games I'm playing run flawlessly (tho they ran pretty great on the last stable release!) but now it's even smoother. Also the new menu is very functional while looking snazzy, but I really do miss the original font oh how I've grown attached to it lol. Anyway thanks again, I look forward to whatever you got in store.

edit: is there plans to add key mapping in the future? I'd like to swap my B & A keys with L & R to take the strain off the smaller buttons. I saw the button options in the settings menu but I don't really understand the use as it just shows check boxes next to them.

Can you configure your controls through the emulator settings? I can't seem to find any option that lets you change your button assignments.
No plans for now.

Those are turbo buttons.

You know what would be nice next? A NES emulator, especially one that actually supports chips like VRC6 since the VC one doesn't.

Amazing job, will get on to testing right now. I wonder if you also restored the old font or added option to switch to the old font, it definitely was clearer than the current arial.
Any reason why we'd need to be on 11.2? My 11.3 A9LH+Luma seems to be working fine. Unless you mean HBL users, in which case I guess they do need to stay on 11.2 for now.

Ah the silliness of me. The original was the Tempesta condensed. I used the fatter version without noticing. :rofl2: Gotta go fix it.

Those are turbo buttons.

Oops, I forgot to update the "Button" header text. Will do so. :)

Yes I remember, but I had no idea what I did... since I didn't make any change to the emulation code this time round. :P

You know I've thought about it too. I wanted like a library of Nintendo emulators running under the same '* for
3DS branding'. But seeing that QuickNES and Nestopia is already available 3DS. Not much motivation for me, considering I took almost a year to get here.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I feel it would also be a major visual improvement: do you plan to add 3D slider support?

I just updated a latest nightly with it; wasn't too difficult to implement it seems. But it doesn't look as good to me as what others suggested. (It's half as bright as without 3D, although with 3D the pixels are more clearly defined).

-----

I don't know why but very occasionally the sound just doesn't play. Have to reset the game / tap on the bottom screen to kick it into action. Anyone facing this too?

With latest release the music in Clay Fighter intro is broken (the voice can be heard but no lead guitar sound). In The adventures of Batman and Robin, the first level, in the roller coaster against The Joker, some graphics are missing or corrupted when the track rotate 360 degrees. This emulator is a dream, I'm using it everyday thanks again bubble2k16

The current Tempesta is different than before? I rather dig the current one, maybe offer option for both?

Problem is that RetroArch's scaling is inferior and it runs like garbage on O3DS.

I recall again (before you are done with the project...)
How about an experimental msu-1 implemetation? The only downside could be slow loading times (I think (? ), at least on o3ds. In the worst of the cases, could be some lattency issues.

Here is the commit from libretro's repo of msu-1 implementation anyway, I mean, a try doesn't hurts:

That makes sense, actually- there's a definite visible increase in brightness whenever you turn on 3D mode in official titles with auto-brightness enabled- maybe a brightness hike is something that has to be implemented in software? RetroArch seems to handle it seamlessly.

(Obviously, it's a really niche feature- thanks for finding the time to look at it at all!)

Slider mode is gorgeous, thanks for that. Brings a sense of charm to Terranigma, which I finally managed to apply a header to (thanks circa 1996 dos tools) and convert to NTSC
