3DS 11.4 Firmware Update Available

0hnqi7q.png

Just today, Nintendo 3DS firmware 11.4.0-37 has been released. I saw no other posts on this so far, so I am posting it. Here is what I found so far has been either temporarily or permanently broken/patched.

BootNTR Selector: Working with latest version (2.7.3)

UDSploit: Patched

Soundhax: Patched (Finally Nintendo... Lmao)

Safehax: Doesn't work without UDSploit, so therefore broken.

11.4.0-37 fixes the slowdown bug for some games like OOT3D that 11.3.0-36 has introduced. Confirmed by @Feffe

Please let me know if anything else got patched. Yes, of course, if you have A9LH+Luma3DS, you can safely update.

Use Soundhax exploit to open HBL, then use Decrypt9WIP to backup your NAND. You can even do it without CFW too.
I don't have the soundhax file for some reason and the HBL doesn't have Decrypt9, but I was able to go into it through the start button; I'm still on 11.3. Where do I go next?

If you need to download soundhax, it's right here. If you need to download the latest Decrypt9WIP, it's right here. Once you've downloaded it, make sure you put the Decrypt9WIP in the folder called "3ds" on the SD Card.

To backup your NAND, either go to emuNAND options or sysNAND options, then go to backup NAND. The NAND on your 3DS system is the sysNAND, the NAND on the SD Card is called emuNAND.

Thanks! Unfortunately my SD card's full (Star Sapphrie, Nova Sun, and Umbra Moon are taking up so much space...); but I'll eventually get to the dumping process. I also happened to have decrypt9 as a luma payload but I'll get the one to put in the 3ds folder just in case being a luma payload does things differently.

Why use homebrew when we have quick access to DecryptWIP on boot?
Makes no sense telling people how to do it the long way....

Maybe because there are still people that don't have a9lh installed and are still using emunand. It's not that hard to open your mind.

Can someone answer this question for me: i heard something with themes was broken on this update: is this custom themes in general, or just the CHMM2 application? If you already have a custom theme before updating, will you lose it?

i laughed when i read that. "Get with the times" your profile pic literally says retro and your name is retrofan!

Yeah, I'am a fan of retro computers and also have every current generation of hardware, yet what does my screen name have to do with my post? My answer before was aimed at that guy's question, since the topic of the thread is about the 3DS using 11.4 fw.

Aight.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I can't access the eShop channel and I haven't updated yet. What now?
If you have made a backup of your 11.3 firmware and updated your CFW to the latest hourly build, it should be okay to update. Normally the Nintendo eShop can't be accessed unless you're on the latest firmware version. You're safe to update, since you've got A9LH. Should there be some issues while using 11.4 firmware on your CFW, then best to revert back to your 11.3 firmware backup.

Just remember to update Luma3DS using LumaUpdater. Make sure you select 'Install latest hourly build' when updating, otherwise you'll be unable to run GBA VC games or even any Nintendo DS or DSiWare games.

For anyone interested doodlebomb is a new userland entry point, though it requires either access to hbl to install, or access to a friend with doodlebomb exploit to send it to you.

been trying to keep up with all this chat but just wanting to check exactly what 11.4 now means:

  • So if you get a console with 11.4 old or new are we now saying there is no exploit to allow any CFW? If so how?
  • If there is an exploit is it then the case that a9lh or Luma3ds dont work or do? or are there limitations with old and new? if so what?
  • Some people are saying flashcards are broke with 11.4, yet http://r4ids.cn/news.htm are stating it works? Can anyone confirm this?
Sorry but im sure others are as novice and as lost as myself so just trying to simplify all this 11.4 chat.

No CFW on 11.4. Maybe available when 11.5/12.0 releases. Who knows? (Devs do.)
What? HBL is broken on O3DS.
IDK. I have no reason to update to 11.4. I even have some on 11.2. It might be probably is fixed in the latest Luma3DS nightly.
