Hello there,
I'm about to dump a Kiosk Unit's EMMC/MLC and SLC via hardmod.
In order to dump the SLC chip a Teensy 2.0++ is required. Since I prefer ordering my stuff inside the EU and from Japan I'm uncertain about if I have found the right one. The product name is Teensy++ 2.0 and not Teensy 2.0++ as stated on WiiUBrew.
Can anyone confirm this one to be the right one?

thanks,
so this is definitely the right one?
Yes. You can compare pictures from their official site between the original Teensy, Teensy++ 2.0, and the 3.x variants. As long as that is what it looks like, I would assume it to be the correct one. Especially since it is named correctly.

Edit: From the eBay specifications, it says the chip model is AT90USB1286. That is the same as the Teensy++ 2.0 on the Teensy site.

The solduring is defferent between mlc and slc ?
Yes, MLC/EMMC is the 32GB NAND (8GB if Basic console) on the side of the board where you can find the CPU, GPU and RAM. The EMMMC/MLC can be dumped with the SD card method.
The SLC chip is on the backside of the board and cannot be dumped this way. You need to connect it to a Teensy and power the chip with a 3.3v source.

Yes but it won't help you if you didn't first dump before bricking.

Let me quantify this a bit. I'm not aware of a way to dump and fix a brick without first dumping otp.bin. and if you need otp.bin then you might as well dump slccmpt.bin at the same time. In other words, if you're bricked you can't count on a teensy saving you if you didn't back up when the Wii U was working.

Oh and make sure you get the "signal booster edition" of the teensy 2.0 ++

You just need this teensy ++ 2.0. The one you listed in OP from ebay is the same one. The Signal Booster is the software that you use but it only works on that model. You will also need this voltage regulator.

Here's all the pics for solder points

I'm currently writing an unbrick guide. I just need to wait for my knew Hakko iron tip to get here to perform this tiny solder job.

Here is some great info from @Leeful here on how to get started dumping.

Also I'm not sure but I think the answer to your other question about cutting that trace under the resistor is for the SD dumping method. Not the teensy. I didn't see any instructions about cutting any traces on the Wii U in the teensy instructions. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. The only cut trace is on the teensy itself.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
