Err... 9,7/10
Ok lemme do this quick,

  1. Legendary sountrack? Nope
  2. Awesome dungeons? Nope
  3. Ocarina? Nope
  4. Weapons that break after killing 2 enemies? Yes
  5. More a collecting game, than a adventure game? Yes
Still worth the "9.7"?

I want a Zelda game where you FINALLY play as an older, mature link. (Late 30's to early 40's) As a Hylian Knight, fighting off evil in various parts of Hyrule under the King's command. Something leading up to him being King of Hyrule (eventually). But seriously, I want to see link as a MAN, with an actual JOB and purpose, serving Hyrule as a Hylian Knight.

Your third points is dumb unless you actually mean the musical instrument. Just because it's not what YOU wanted doesn't make it worse. If you ask me I don't even want to compare it to the previous Zelda games. In the end it's just another game with a name attached to it. My best example would be Yoshi's island. I thought that was great but it's not Super Mario World 2, it's just different but they gave it that name. I agree, I can't say the soundtrack was very memorable but I enjoyed the silence when playing and exploring. Weapon degradation isn't much fun but you find so much anyways but yeah, having to go look for a fire boomerang or whatever just when you need it sucks. The dungeons were lame and it's been mentioned several times so I'm sure they'll make some real ones for the next game. I don't know what to say about item collection - every game does this. Looking at BotW as it's own thing I'd give it a 9.0 compared to other games in the genre. I actually felt like they made open world feel fresh again. The physics and game world constantly gives back to you when you try to mess with it, it's very tactile. I liked it.

I liked it too. There wasn't really ever a feeling that the world was too cramped, or too empty. Well, maybe a bit empty in the northeast, but still lots to do. Felt very fresh indeed.

My third point was joke.. Like you said every game does the item collection, nothing special. Also you said the dungeons and soundtrack were lame, and you think it's still a 9? Only thing I ment to say is, dont trust those 10/10 reviews, its just not realistic.

I wrote the soundtrack isn't very memorable, I don't find it bad at all and to me it was a good thing that it was toned down for a more subtle approach when exploring. I liked that they made the sounds dynamic depending on the situation. I liked the silence with the undertone of electronic sounds. I don't trust the hype either, not for any game. I should say the dungeons weren't bad but not particularly good either, they could've done those better. I think it's pretty safe to say they were forced to make the dungeons that small and that simple because of the fact that we are able to explore anything at any time and they had to constrain the difficulty for the dungeons in particular. Aren't all things subjective? To me, Odyssey is an 8 (it was 10 until I started the moon-collectathon and it lost it's pacing) and I think anime in general is garbage. I love the old FF's but 13 and up is shit to me. I think BotW deserve a 9 but if you think it's shit then great, you shouldn't be as stupid as me and force yourself to play it like I played FF13. #neveragain

I look at BotW as its own thing now and for me it'll never be like the old 3d games if they keep going like this. It's just new and different and what it did new was freshen up the open world experience for me, something I never thought they'd manage to do. I thought the game looked boring as HELL from all the pictures and trailers all the way up to release and it wasn't until I played it that I realized how wrong - I - was . Call it Zelda or call it Generic green man open world character game, it just raised the bar for open world games for me.

You lack imagination. I rather play BOTW, than any of those other "AAA" interactive adventure movie games that require no skill, besides getting from checkpoint to the next checkpoint... It is because of BOTW I feel retraints not being able to climb everything in all those other games now. Everything else feels "generic"now.

You shouldn't have to be imaginative to enjoy a game. If you, the player, have to use your imagination it means the developers didn't do their job. It's not The Sims or Minecraft, it's an action game.

Who told you it's an action game? How do you feel about the first legend of zelda on NES? play that game without the help of internet. You have to be imagenitive to enjoy these game and to figure shit out. That is what BOTW is about. Figuring shit out by yourself. Stop thinking in boxes.

Also I could care less about the Zelda lore. The more games I play the more tired I get from reading shitty stories developers cook together. To me the Zelda games were always about the green cap kid who wields the master sword and has to kill Ganon. It's all a blur to me and the Zelda lore "rabbit hole" is hilarious to me. It's the same shit every time. It always has been and it always will be and it's the same shit in every game. It's THE ALL STORY where you are THE ONE. That's why I liked BotW so much, I got to just explore and play for so much of the time and not having to deal with shitty videogame stories.

Yes, I agree, this is a no boundry game in terms of how you want to approach your goals, what ever they are in your quest. I never felt so free in a game. In the beginning it felt even like I missed the general guidance present in many many games nowadays. But as I learned and progressed, I developed as a player and link as a character. Without a tutorial or story even. You as a player, are the director of what will happen in your play.
