So I lost my almost 100% complete Mhgen save file when the motherboard on my 3ds died. I want to make a new character, but get my gear and progress back. Can I do that with this mod tool? Can I edit quest progress? Like I literally only was missing 3-5 quests between village and hub. Can I edit a save to have that all done? If not, what is my best option? Keep in mind I play this game online.

So....is there a way to set guidelines for what kind of skills will work for a Palico to make it legit in the game, or am I pretty much playing the lottery through the editor trying to get good skills and support moves without screwing up? Also, why risk having a worthless cat when I might as well search for cats the hard way? There HAS to be a way to make this more feasible.

So far, it looks like the DLC support moves and Skills don't work ingame. The game itself recognizes what they are but won't accept them for palicos or prowlers for who knows what reason. Can't say I know why, only that it doesn't work.

There IS a Talisman editor you can get that's better suited for making legit charms than the Save Editor. If you want, I can find a link or maybe the file itself.

no not in this thread. there are other threads and sources on how to get homebrew access and the forum is easy to search when you actually use the search function instead of wading through the threads manually. Not trying to sound condescending but there's literally a section in the top right of the forum with the word "search" in the text box.
Yes weapons need to be equipped - and in the same slot as they were in the host game. if armor/nothing is in that slot the game will crash.
there are numerous tools linked in the OP. I even uploaded several cats that will work (and even posted about how to bypass the game's checks and get working illegal cats)
there is no legit palico with those moves. the palico likely doesn't work bc you imported it at max level and with the skills still equipped when you didn't have that unlocked yet for your save.
this is incorrect. they do work, but you need to set the DLC flag, use ONLY ONE OF THEM [unless its in the learned slot, in which case you can use two], and use the right format for the legal skills.

there's a working blank savewith 100% completion in the OP (I should know. It's my save). just import your crap form your existing save into the blank one , inject it to the appropriate save slot, and roll with it.Can someone please share with me a good save file. Thanks

to clarify since it wasnt before: the bolded ability is illegal. The only way to have that ability is to have a Charisma palico (AKA your first palico) or game the system by putting in in the null slot after the learned ability. I know thats how it was in the example, but the example was wrong.
Is there anyway to use this editor without Homebrew? Since it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to get home brew on my version of 3DS ive checked every video and guide of my 3DS generation or w/e its called and they have all been patched. I lost my save awhile ago and dont feel like redoing everything.
Yea i checked that guide. Any other save editors i could use or perhaps a custom quest maker where i can mod the reward items just to help me make my old gear.
Somebody know how to do a crazys weapons? I mean (for example) a GS with 12k atack skill and 12k status skill... I want to try something but I don't know where to find where edit the weapons. Thank you!
I have crazy weapons in MH4U, crazy equipment and talisman; that's why I'm making the question. The problem is I don't know how to edit in "Hex Editing". Im very slow with that kind of things.
The thing is, it can't be done just by save editing, I'll explain, in MH4U, there were relics that had certain absurd values, due to how they were coded, however, those absurd values were just a result of how all other values were calculated, and remained unused. With the Save Editor you were able to get equipment with those crazy amounts of power, you just had to "tap into them", in Generations however, you can't because all weapons have a fixed value, in other words, you can't tap into crazy power because there isn't any already there coded. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Generation's weapons all have fixed values, unlike relics in 4U which kinda acted like a blank check, dunno if it they can be changed with Hex editing.
Luckily there is an alternative, albeit a little more complex, using NTR cheats you can get crazy whatever, even more than the Save editor is able to do, however, it's a little bit more complicated to use, nothing crazy complicated, but just a little tiny bit more complicated, I encourage to look into those, any help I can provide, you can PM me and I'll gladly help you out.

I messed with my wifey, she knew I was going to get hair cut, and I went and bought a purple dyed wig, and came home wearing it, she freaked out, thinking I dyed my hair purple, was funny. -
