Hacking [SOLVED] Wii bricked - Have boot2 - Can boot bootmii - Can get to homebrew channel

Okay, so I did manage to update IOS80. I had forgotten that I needed to change to the right IOS beforehand to actually be able to update any other IOS.

This hasn't resulted in any changes.

Not sure what to do from here.

No health and safety screen. As soon as I hit system menu, it's a black screen.

Wait, do you have Priiloader set up to skip H&S? If so, turn that off and check if the H&S works.

It is not set up to skip HandS.

Btw, noticed that on bottom left, it say "IOS v80", but also that the system menu is "v514". Not sure where this number is coming from, I thought it I was on 16174.

Hi all, apologies in advance to those who have already had to cast their eyes over a hundred other similar topics...which ironically is probalby a big reason why I can't seem to find the exact bit of information I need. I have a feeling the solution to my problem is very simple.

Here is the breakdown (bearing in mind I'm pretty much a layman when it comes to modding):

- Bricked Wii (black screen when going to System Menu)
- Don't know what exactly happened for it to brick.
- On startup, Wii goes to Bootmii (boot2 enabled).
- Have a NAND backup. Not sure if this was obtained right after initial mod.
- Have tried restoring NAND backup. Patch is successful, but still black screen on System Menu.
- Able to get to homebrew channel.
- Have priiloader installed. Not sure if this was installed right after initial mod.

My understanding is I may have a problem with BT module or something to do with IOSes.

I would be extremely grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

Does Priiloader load if you hold Reset while loading the system menu?
You may try these troubleshooting steps (they might be a bit outdated but they still cover most types of bricks)

You don't need a SaveMii dongle if you open up a GC controller so that all 4 D-Pad directions can be pressed simultaneously, plug it in port 4 and press all 4 directions while booting the console (I think the part that handles this is in the system menu so you may need to select that in BootMii then immediately hold the buttons)

Since restoring a NAND backup didn't work I'm guessing the issue is hardware related. But as a last resort if all else fails you can try to generate a clean vanilla NAND with ohneschwanzenegger and restoring it.

I think it's most likely a broken Bluetooth/WiFi module.

I don't think you get any display with broken BT/Wifi.

There are tools to rebuild your nand and unbrick a Wii as long as you have a valid dump of the Wii's nand as it is now. Let me look it up quick and I'll link it to you. If this doesn't fix the Wii then nothing will.

I had ordered a bt module before this post, but you were closest anyhow, so kudos to you.

Replaced bluetooth module today and the wii works fine now.

Important information:
You can't sync new wii remotes in the homebrew channel.
You can't sync new wii remotes in priiloader.
[edit] The wii is able to boot to hbc and whatever with a broken bluetooth module. Not sure where the idea that it can't came from.
[edit] I had a problem with with usbloader gx not detecting hard drive at startup. Now it does....Not sure why the hell a broken bt module would matter, but yeah.

I have tried to do this with the new bluetooth module and jack happens.
