Hello guys! I'm really happy to see how the progress of the jailbroken PS4 is going to. Very impressive and many thanks for the guys out their time in everything and who released a jailbreak for it! :)

As of today I have a jailbroken PS3 and "jailbroken" Nintendo Wii... I going to buy a PS4 Slim that was released 2016-09-16, or the Uncharted 4 bundle slim. Hopefully it will be below firmware 4.05. :/

But I have some questions that might already been answered, but I can't find some of them.

1. Let say that I buy a PS4 with firmware 3.55, can I update it to only 4.05? Or are we forced to update to the latest.

2. Let say that there is a new jailbreak firmware version, but this time it's 4.55 instead of 4.05. If we update to that version to make jailbreak work, do we have to format everything and start all over again (all the game in the internal HDD will disappear etc)???

3. Stupid question, but as I have PS3 today, I do know that the ban rate is pretty high when playing online. Is it the same as in jailbroken PS4? (Don't judge me for this question :P)

4. Lastly, will a internal HDD be much slower if we use a 5400RPM instead of a 7200RPM? :)
Also is it okay to use a 5200RPM?

Thank you in advance! :)

1) You can update to any fw using a USB stick
2) No
3) Unable to get banned because it can’t go online. Wait for a spoofer
4) I’m pretty sure it is slower. Really only affects writing and reading data

Thank you! :)

But how can I update to firmware 4.05? Where can I download the file?

And it's okay, I don't need online anyway :)

Moving on to the HDD question:

I installed a 2tb firecuda SSHD (SSD cached reads) and feels like heaven. GTAV still takes a minute or so of loading but c'mon.

I have one more small question (sorry)!
Let say that I buy a internal HDD. How should I proceed from there?
Will the system automatically update itself to the latest version, because of the new internal HDD?
Or will I have to do something to make it work?? :(

You have to install the recovery update for 4.05 in a usb drive. Just like you update to 4.05, but this time the recovery update is around 900 MB. This initializes the ps4 system for use.

And yes, you can update while you change your hard drive in one go.

I'm so pumped, NCAA football video game is back after a 10 year hiatus, coming to SeriesS/X, PS5 in July.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Wish they would let us play the NCAA football 14 on newer xbox, its one of the only games I love and own on disc still, that is not back compatible, bs.

@BigOnYa My dad recently bought a spare Series X off of me, got game pass, and saw Madden '24 on Game Pass, decided to try it out.

...He was a bit taken aback by the 60GB download size. Poor guy's still living in the 90s!

  • AdenTheThird @ AdenTheThird:
@K3Nv2 He was looking into consoles for his house anyway (for my younger siblings and himself) and I had a spare XSX and Switch I ended up selling him at pretty steep cuts. I would just give them to him, but I did buy them with the intent to sell them... and college is super expensive.
