Just wondering if anybody has had a problem where they can't navigate through the appstore? No directional inputs seem to work and the only button that is functional is A

Hmm, I'm not sure why the d-pad and touch screen wouldn't work, but the A button would. Does Home still exit it?

What firmware are you on, and how are you running it (docked/undocked)?

Firmware 5.0.1 And yeah, just the dpad/touch/analogs that dont work

Make sure both the joycons are disconnected

Thanks, that was what it was, it seems I messed up my joycon rail earlier aha ^^"

A set of links on 1 webpage that not even everyone knows about is 'enough'? No it isn't, it's not even the same thing. An application on the switch that allows installing and updating homebrews and apps for the switch is something that's right there available to use to download and update in the optimal way! Just because you can manually copy the files, doesn't mean that's the best and least error prone method to do something. That's stage1, that's the beginning when you're just figuring things out and getting going. Once you know how to do something then you automate/semi-automate that task to make your life easier (and others too). Like for example game genie codes mega everdrive, got sick of manually making text files containing them and copying them to my sdcard and putting it back in the cart and back in the system just to add some new cheats for a different game I was playing. So I guess these 'elitists' would continue doing that and claim it's the best way. While I instead made an app to just scrape them all from the main site I was using and write them all to properly formatted files readable by the megaeverdrive! And copied them all to the sd, never had to take it out since! :D

Yes so doing things in a better smarter more efficient and hassle free way and writing and creating the tools to accomplish them is a way to keep moving forward and always improving! Manually copying stuff is just remaining stagnant, and not trying to improve on the process in any way. That's why it's called manually lol, it's manual labor that you could have automated after first few times you did it, and then spend that saved time working on the next big thing! :)

So yea it sucks that happened, but the best apps aren't going to be the ones that some 1 site decided not to censor and the 'best' ones being the ones they didn't censor. The best apps are going to be the best because they truly are the best, and had hard work and love put into them that can clearly be seen by the people that use them!

I thought of a way that I could help out and contribute to this and I know it's a worthwhile venture. Fine they can have their 1 static page with dead and outdated links (and so can google code lol that was a good one), and we'll have a dynamic auto updating, auto git pulling, auto unpacking and installing versatile solution that anyone can use, directly on the thing they're using it for!

Why wouldil it meed updates? Only the apps need to be updated from time to time.

Thats what i meant thanks but the store has to be updated to show the updated and newly added apps just like freeshop, e shop, psn store, xbox store. So my meaning was correct just my wording was off

Not that I know of. It checks for everything that's on the server on boot, no matter which version the store itself has.
The Google Play Store doesn't receive an update for every new app that's being put in lol.
Or am I wrong, @vgmoose?

I am having trouble accessing the appstore. Its stuck at loading. I already reinstalled it but nothing changed. My internet connection is working and I am on 4.0.1
Any idea what could be the problem? Thanks.

Did you block IPs or URLs via router? Blocking IPs blocks the app store as well.

I don't know if this is already suggested somewhere, and i think this is not a feature, if it is either, sorry.
Suggestion 1:
Add options for installing categories, i mean, i love this, but having all homebrew in the same folder is cumbersome, and a little bit of optional organization would be great, its better if categories were customizable, but just using the same categories as they are separate on the store would be enough, like an option that you check and they stop installing everything in the main folder and install every homebrew in its own category folder, like emulators, games, loaders, tools, concepts. it would be better if it is even customizable but just the same categories as the store front end would be enough.
Suggestion 2:
This i think is unneeded as when atmosphere is released the fw version probably won't be that much of a problem, but i will say it anyway: say on the description of each homebrew in which versions it works or in which versions it does not work.

Sorry for my crappy Engrish, if anyone wants to correct something i write wrong, please tell me in pm and i will fix it, to maintain the thread clean and neat.
EDIT: Thanks to Draxzelex for correcting me.

@vgmoose thanks for sharing your code, i have made some modifications to it to use in a similar project, but not for homebrew, however i cannot get it to compile in devkitpro, i am getting sdl missing errors, do you know which packages i may be missing that I can install with pacman or another way to get it compiling?

Could we possibly include a list of working firmwares for each app in it's description? I can help test for 5.1 and 5.0.2 although, I imagine the compatibility for those two will be the same.
