The Wii Mini is unhackable.I'm sure they were having a meeting and someone said well we still have the dsi. **Johnson runs in with a GBAtemp print out ** Sir they got to the dsi too!

Yep but the vast majority of games people are going to pirate are games that the people would never buy in the first place so nintendo or 3rd partysdevs are not losing out on anything anyway.

Ok but for AAA titles of the 3% estimated hackers who pirated games how many would actually buy the game if the system was not hackable. For most AAA titles you would be looking at only 0.5 to 1% of the 3% of pirates would buy any given AAA title so that kinda loss to nintendo is nothing. And for the remaining AAA games that people would typically buy... they will get pirated too. So the chance of it being purchased by the pirater goes out the window entirely, unless of course they want to physically or digitally own the game, support the developer, or you know, legitimately say they have an actual legal backup. At least before piracy was attainable on the Nintendo Switch, there was a likely chance for a sale as opposed to an unlikely chance of a sale, though that would be based on the pirate's morals.
Tell me how they would gain access to the chip without popping the hood?I want to see a release from manufacturers that use tegra bootrom devices.
We're sorry that someone just walked up to your car and stole it with a backdoor recovery bug, don't worry we don't have a ota fix for it so you'll need to bring it in for a new on-board computer

Yeah no way they will acknowledge this publicly. Ironically, I only found out about potential Switch backup loaders because of game sites reporting about it.

What you have said makes zero sense. You basically just said only hackable systems have games lol.My head is starting to hurt with all the 1’s and 3’s and %’s. I may have to back off for a moment. But.. If the system was not hackable, then wouldn’t the games not exist to pirate?
Allow me to rephrase. If the system was not hackable, then wouldn’t roms/images/rips of the games not exist in playable form on original hardware so the pirate can pirate? What you have said makes zero sense. You basically just said only hackable systems have games lol.
From my point of view though (slightly off topic) I don't care about doing the right thing and how it's morally wrong to pirate games. The company doesn't give a crap about us as the consumer we're just walking paychecks. Plus I was entirely put off when they made the online service a paid service.
Well obviously. Let me ask you a question can you name me one company either 1st 2nd or 3rd party that has went out of business because of piracy?? I have been in the games business for over 22 years working for large devs and smaller devs over the years and I can't think of any that have gone out of business because of piracy. Piracy has such a small effect on companies that most don't give a flying fuck about it.Allow me to rephrase. Thats so stupid in so many ways...

Off the top of my head, no. With some research maybe, maybe not. An interesting read though about the harmful effects...

No. Nintendo knew about the vulnerability. In fact, there are comments in the current code which reference the patches to fix the issue. This was on Nintendo.Nvidia kinda owes them one after this. Discounted TX2 boards for Switch 2?
