IIRC: edit the ip address to your one in the kernel.js, host it and run it.

edit kernel-dump.js line 500 to your pc ip then use netcat, netcat ps4.ip.here. 9030 > kdump.bin

I have been campaigning for this action for months, it shouldn't be much longer now until you can at least use something

"stuck" on 4.7x ?
what does a broken BRD have to do with it , why can't you just put the update on a USB and update?
how do you get into a situation like this in the 1st place

The PS4 checks if everything is working correctly. Even if it detects the BD drive isn't working, the update will fail.
I don't know why Sony did this. It's the same case with the PS3 too. In case of a PS3, a PS3 is unable to boot any app and game with a broken BD drive.

Did you edit the IP address to your own in the kernel.js?

I would keep trying, sounds a lot like the OOM errors from 4.05/4.55.

Try host it via LAN rather than WIFI, or cache it if 4.7x has the ability, then fresh reboot and restart again.

@thekarter104 nailed it: Sony them selves added something to the update that accidentally knobbed up the area between the BD and the logic/mobo. In the case of 4.7x this means a mismatch and the console won’t update from WiFi/usb/disc.

Strangely they never issued a fix, and never properly acknowledged the fault.

They have done this before with breaking WiFi drivers and other issues but normally reciting them with an incremental update....

I got the "done" message and nothing more, if a run the exploit a second time the ps4 turn off, and the kdump file stills on zero.

It's for 4.74 only.

About what it does, it depends if the exploit was fully ported or if it's only a part. I suppose it should at least add the debug menu entry (didn't checked the code tho)...

Should work on 4.7x, same way 5.07 works with 5.05 exploits, unless 4.74 is the only version users got stuck on ¯\_(ツ)_/¯?

The index.html reports that olly FW 4.74 is supported (before I was thinking about offsets). I suppose FW 5.05 and 5.07 are not very different... ^__^

If you’re truly stuck you cannot update anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is a kernel dumper not an exploit, yet. Using kdumps we can find the offsets for this firmware to easily port hen.

@ryuuua CFW requires keys, firmware installation requires keys. At best right now we can hope for HEN ported and games downgraded, but ultimately I think a BD bypass trick might somehow be possible to allow installation of 5.05 on 4.7x units.... how to get through the reboot though is the question, as HEN is stored in ram....

I really just want to be able to use the PS4 as I used to. Digital only on official firmware and not being held back by the faulty BD drive that I never used anyways
