I have a plan

> Win Lottery
> Hire High-Level Coders to help Jam
> Pay everyone 50k for the work
> Patch out in 3 months tops

Backup plan

> Win Lottery
> Pay SEGA for rights to PS series
> Get source code to PSP2i
> Give to Jam
> Patch out in 5 mins
I also have a plan

> Win lottery
> Create harem
> No time left for video games

Xandiavis, it's simply not happening this year. Or next year. Or five years. Or ten years. It's dead...you see? Github? Nope, doesn't exist. Good night!

I always wanted to play the Phantasy Star games but where is the best place to start? Here? or with the originals?
Opinions vary, so here are three potential starting points:

- Phantasy Star Generation 1 (PS2) (turned based)
- Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst (PC) (action based)
- Phantasy Star Portable (PSP) (action based)

It all depends on your preference between classic turn based and action based RPGs. Since your user name is Bortz (a FFV character), I'm going to assume you're not exactly averse to turn based.

Actually isn't that Bartz? Bortz is a reference to something else, but either way, you arent wrong, I do love turn based games.

Technically that's correct, but his in game name varies between Bartz/Bortz/Butz -- depending on the translation. Dude has more names than Tikki Tikki Tembo.

If you're up for the "old fashioned" gameplay of the originals, the Phantasy Star Collection for GBA is a great place to start.
What's the most "definitive" versions to play? From what I've heard each re release has changes in some way shape or form.

I'm somewhat of a purist, so my personal preference are the original Master System and Megadrive releases on original hardware - but even then there's the fact that only the original Japanese release of the first game has the awesome FM audio.
I hear good things about the Switch port of the first game - the addition of dungeon mapping is a game changer... in a good way.
