Hardware Question. Speed difference of U3 and U1 card?

U3 is the newer of the two. The U1 and U3 designation signifies its guaranteed minimum transfer rate. U1 means that it is guaranteed to transfer at a minimum of 10 MB/s whereas U3 it's guaranteed to transfer at a minimum of 30 MB/s. You should at least get Bestbuy to do price match if you are gonna buy it off them, the price is cheaper for those Samsung cards on Amazon than on Bestbuy.

I got a 400gb u1 SanDisk and I get around 36 to 41mbs copying via USB. So it's perfectly fine for me me. So I'm not sure how much benefit all u3 really will do. It would be a fun test to see however.

I would go for U3 speed one if you want to do a lot of USB transfer, you can also do usb install, ain't much different, go for something with U3 I guess.

@linuxares I get about 75 mbps on a U3 Samsung 512GB.

To be honest I use a cable for one of the pro controllers I got and I got no idea the speed of it. Probably a 3 but not sure.
