v0.90 crashes when you press B a bunch of times

Also seems to think my NX-Shell is not an App Store App when it is

Is support for touch coming?

v0.90
- crashes when pressing B multiple times.
- won't exit when + is pressed, it just restarts.
- it's not scanning the hbappstore (/switch/appstore/appstore.nro), needed to put another nro on the switch folder itself.

~
touch support would be lovely.
also an option to uninstall/delete apps maybe?

Thanks for trying it!

What screen are you mashing from? I mashed B really fast on every screen I could and couldn't reproduce. :\

Also seems to think my NX-Shell is not an App Store App when it is
Has the nro been moved from the default place? Does its directory match that of the one in
/switch/appstore/.get/packages/NX-shell/manifest.install (text file)

I sure hope so! That relies on the gui library I'm using, but I'm starting to contribute to that as well, so it's definitely in the cards.

Are you running it from a main menu forwarder? If so, I don't think there's any actual way for me to kill the program back to home without crashing it, unfortunately. I can't think of any games that can do that.

- it's not scanning the hbappstore (/switch/appstore/appstore.nro), needed to put another nro on the switch folder itself.
Is 'scan subfolders' turned on in the settings?

also an option to uninstall/delete apps maybe?
Already in! In the Manage panel for an app.

I assume when the version is named x.xxd it's cause you have the debug options enabled, right? Thing is, even when your version matched the current one, the Update Available! option still appears cause it seems to take the d version as a different and previous one.
So, for example, I have the 0.90d on my console, but I still see that the update 0.90 > 0.90d is available. I recall seeing the same on previous versions as well.

You betcha! Allows me to test the update panel even if I haven’t released a new version yet or am offline.

Cool project! I'd like to see a feature where we can add our own notes for each particular homebrew, it could be pretty nice if we could write them up on a computer and then store them in some form of text file in the homebrew details folder for it to read. It could just be our own description, or we could leave tips and reminders there and even mini guides for others.

Been a long time coming! I hope you enjoy!

-----------------------------

Changelog: [v0.91]
- Added a new notes panel to each app

Wanna edit the notes via a computer? They're saved in 'sdmc:/config/homebrew_details/notes.json' and the contents are base64ed so there's no probs with symbols and stuff.
Code:
{
   "Amiigo.nro":"VGVzdCBub3RlLg==",
   "Switch_90DNS_tester.nro":"VGhpcyBvbmUgY29tZXMgaW4gaGFuZHku"
}

First of all just wanna say great app! Love it and I hope it progresses alot. I can already feel that this has alot of potential.
I also thought that I could give a suggestion of my own:
-UMS USB Support
This would be a great thing to add because it would be great for when launching homebrew details and wanting to add some homebrew apps while you're there, hekate has this feature but it means you have to always keep loading it whenever you want to use the ums function. I just think it would be great to have a ums function in homebrew details to help add any of your homebrew apps easily and just have a pain-free way to access your sd card when in cfw. I don't really think MTP should be used instead because it doesn't work for me and a few other users too. FTP is always a good possibility too but I personally prefer UMS via USB (maybe you could add both?).

Forgive me if this suggestion is a bit stupid or if nobody likes it, I'm just putting it out here as a possible suggestion.

Keep up the amazing work!

Thank you for the suggestion! I think it's a great idea. I also usually reboot into hekate to use usb, so it would be pretty handy! I'll look into it!

UMS in homebrew is not an option. Homebrew can not unmount sdcard from system processes and lock it for exclusive use. Without this PC and switch system processes will have concurent access to sdcard and you'll get corrupted fs.

The only way is to use syscalls to sd access and this leads to FTP or MTP. MTP is way better because do not require soft on PC end.

Weird, 'cause when I start the aplication it does scan the whole SD card automatically
Are the scan settings in the settings panel what you expect to see?

That makes total sense, thanks for clarifying.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
