Surprised 3 isn't getting any love. I get why 2 is, but I always preferred 3 over 2. It was just like 2, but more refined, with that added duel mode that I really loved and we never saw again.
3 is good and all but it didn't feel like it was doing it's own thing. It was basically 2 again, but worse. It's still really fun but most people prefer 2. Also the boards. I don't remember a single MP3 board. Not saying they're bad but... I remember every single MP2 board but not a single MP3 board.

It was like 2 again, but better is my opinion. Put a shit ton of hours in both games, but 3 comes out on top for me, much more fond memories of that one at the end of the day.

if there's one on the switch, I probably have it just to have. I'm legit on the switch too, so I bought it without ever playing it or appreciating the series. I love Mario, since my favorite genre is platformers. however, I don't have anyone to play the game with even though I have two joycons, four pro controllers, and two switches. :(

My friend is telling me that Mario Party 2 is the worst one.
I keep telling him that he just sucks at it and that Mario Party 2 tops all of the other Mario Party games.

Vote to clarify which is the best one.

Where is the Mario Part e, you swine?!
Everyone knows that this is the real Mario Party and other ones are just ilusions craeted by 3DO company to trick us!
Give us an option to vote for one only real Mario Party expierience or else you will perish by my hand @JuanMena !

Mario Party 1 had minigame island. As someone who mostly played alone when it launched, that made it by far the best of the original 3. Mario Party 1 also played the best of the original 3 on a modded Xbox, which is where eventually I would play it the most with friends.

Mario Party 8's motion controls made it very accessible to non-gamers, so it was one you could play with family and girlfriends. The boards were also well designed and unique. And 2v2 coop (although many others had this).

A roomate and I marathoned Mario Party 4-7 one summer. We enjoyed them all, but I couldn't tell you anything specific to any one entry. Releasing 4 games in one generation probably hurt the series. I remember the Game Informer review for MP7+8 was basically "enough already" and didn't even discuss the game.

I didn't play most of the handheld ones. Getting multiple DS and copies of the game was difficult and a lot of the fun is being on the couch with friends. I do have one of the 3DS games, Top 100 I think. It brought back mini-game island, which I enjoyed.

You guys know that you can multi-vote for your favorites?

I voted 2, 5 and DS, because CLEARLY, those are the best ones.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Will someone kill me if they know that my first Mario Party was the 10? Yeah.... But my favorite one is DS
Sure why not?

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
