Hi. I downloaded Retroarch from the Homebrew appstore and when I try loading a ROM it says "warning: missing assets. use the online" and "failed to load content". Where can I download the missing assets? Thanks.
No. Retroarch is not supposed to be a dedicated file browser. Look into WiiXplorer, a really great vWii app or WiiU-Shell which is still in development but has some nice features. Is there a way to delete games from the sd card from inside the retroarch menu system?

if anyone s getting the 160-4205 system memory error just download retroarch from the wiiu homebrew app store, worked for me
Anyone getting error 160-4205 when trying to run retroarch via homebrew launcher? (the home menu version works fine)
What's the deal with the memory error occurring?
It seems to happen as soon as RetroArch is launched from the Homebrew Launcher.
Anyone knows why it started happening? And/or what can fix it?
@MarioSilva @GATWYAY3.2 @ShadowOne333 The problem is specifically with the launcher app, i.e. sdmc:/wiiu/apps/retroarch/retroarch.rpx. I don't know when the issue started because I really never update the launcher app on my end, just the individual cores. But if you can find an older version before the issue started, you can just drop it over the broken one and it will work fine.
Dude if you can, I'd suggest to please open up an issue report about the WiiU standalone app on the Github repo and adding these as possible culprits. Could help a ton for debugging and for a potential fix.I did a bit of commit digging and I think one of these commits broke the Retroarch Launcher

(no clue which commit did the actual breaking though)
Would love to help but for me after updating to the latest version nothing works. It won't boot from my installed retroarch channel and it won't boot from the homebrew launcher either.OK, so can anyone list to me all the current outstanding issues with the port?
Also, I understand people are upset right now, but could I basically ask anyone motivated if they could try the Picodrive core that was recently added to the WiiU nightlies and see if it works? The author would like to know.

Gutted :/
I dont know if you know but there's a brand new WiiU Homebrew Environment being released soonish by Maschell (3 years in the making) thats basically going to replace what we have now, problem is legacy Homebrew wont run and will need to be updated.?
@AmandaRose try deleting you Retroarch.cfg then trying again, you wont believe how many time errors have been because of the Retroarch.cfg
HAHA. More than likely it was me, I should put it in my Sig@ploggy you are a total genius deleted the cfg files and now the retroarch channel is booting perfectly again.
I forgot all about doing that. Been a long while since I last had a problem with the WiiU version. Funnily enough I think it was you told me to do that the last time probably about 500 pages ago
Yep Megadrive emulation working perfectly for me. As for Mega CD emulation well Sonic Cd USA version causes this to happenFair warning the Core is a little slow, afraid it would be but hoped the WiiU could handle it :/
EDIT: ((32X Emulation is slow I mean, Megadrive Emulation seems fine, havent tried MegaCD Emulation))
I get the same error as you Sonic CD(US) I tried editing the PicoDrive.opt file region option from AUTO to US to see if that made any difference.. it didn'tYep Megadrive emulation working perfectly for me. As for Mega CD emulation well Sonic Cd USA version causes this to happen

Where as Snatcher Euro version loads but I get this unique error

Both Sonic Cd and Snatcher are running perfectly using Genesis Plus GX. So it's not an issue with my backups
Edit so just out of curiosity I have just downloaded the Euro version of Sonic Cd and gave that a go using Picodrive and now that is giving me the same error as Snatcher
