You make it sound like his motive is to make money from this thing - like he thinks he has some gem that nobody else can have unless you pay him. That's not how he works. He's releasing it early access for patrons precisely because it's not good enough to release widely. It will be available to everybody when it reaches his standard of quality. Like he did with RA, Mupen, and PPSSPP.
Eh. Seems like a bit of a hollow argument to me. Why not make it open to everyone? Let someone else help pick up the slack. Many hands make light work

Or just ask the right people. The core really isn't good enough to be paywalled
Or you can be miserable enough not to contribute a measly dollar. And be the leech shit.
I'm not interested in licking anyone's body. But m4xw has enough contributions to the scene with a quality that no one can possibly deny. That PSP emulator is insanely good.

I'm not denying m4xw's talent as a developer. I'm just saying that if you're looking to spend a dollar for the sole purpose of using this emulator, you're better off getting french fries from McDonald's and finding the core from a friend.

Well, it depends on the perspective. If you are paying to get something immediately in return, possibly from your perspective it would be correct. However, the work behind things like this is enormous, and many times without any retribution (Only people throwing shit and making criticisms that discourage anyone). I think that regardless of progress, "one" dollar is almost symbolic, it doesn't pay for the hours behind it, but it is a small wink of interest. It's just a perspective.

It's about showing support you cheap fuck
If you want to show support than by all means, go for it. Shivo(continued os) said it well that it is a matter of perspective. My perspective is if you want to support m4xw, feel free to do so. I and he have conflicting ideas of homebrew development so I choose not to. To someone carrying my perspective, it is not worth the one dollar. It's not about being cheap, nor is it about the dollar price tag, it's about showing support, or not having interest to.

Question, where is the config file in citra for Switch - I am looking to change screen fittings from side-by-side to small Touch screen in right lower corner? And also if possible add a switch screen button assigning to change to double rotated screen in like bowser battle fights in the Mario & Luigi games?

Don't know if anyone agrees with me but posting the latest Citra Core that @m4xw is working on is not right. There's a reason its only available to patreon users who invest in m4xw to develop these. You can find old build around but I don't agree with this.

I believe the link that @dave7802 posted to the latest Citra Core should be removed.

Tbh I doubt anyone cares if it's "right" or not, people just want the emulator.

Yeah. The paywall thing is dumb. Especially for an emulator that's been available for over a year.
If you spent hundreds of hours porting/making something no one else is willing to do. You’d want a small kickback for your time as well

don’t be entitled

No one else in the homebrewing community does that. That's why it's a community. People helping people out. He doesn't even let anyone else try to help

99% of this “community” just leeches and takes. How many of these open source projects around here do you actually see people contributing too besides complaining about bugs and whining for more features ?

Lots. I may have been around a little longer though. Regardless, most people I see defending the paywall are the same people raising pitchforks to things like SXOS for charging for homebrew. Major double standards

People deserve to be compensated for their time. It’s a novel concept isn’t it?

You did not address a thing I just said...
I did just like how you addressed what parts of this switch community actually get contributions from other people. Simply citing “lots” and that you’ve been around longer..like that means anything

Also re read your previous post. Is that not a response to you making a statement about people complaining about their projects charging
