I have a N3DS that black screens during various part of running Smash 3DS.

It black screens when I try to access the option to change controls, when I go to stage select, or after I confirm selecting my character when going online. It also hangs on loading when I try solo classic mode at stage load or when I pick a character to customize their moveset. Trying to go HOME to kill the game actually causes a hang where I'm forced to hold the Power button to do a force-shutdown.

I've tried re-installing the game and its updates/DLC and it still black screens. I even went as far as clearing tickets (just in case). Still black screens.

This issue effectively kills this N3DS from ever playing Smash.

The only pattern I caught is that it seems to happen when it tries to access parts of the game that needs to load Stages. (I've never ran mods on this game.)

Any ideas?

Hey,

I may have done screwed something up, I modded my New Nintendo 3DS XL yesterday and this morning went out and bought a bigger SD Card (128GB) which I formatted to FAT32 and couldn't get it to work (I assumed it was an unsupported card.)

So I tried going back to my original 16GB SD after I had already formatted it. I put all of my backed up files from my PC back onto the SD Card and now when I turn my console on I don't have access to any of my downloaded content despite the files on my PC and the files on the SD Card being identical. Did I format the SD card wrong or something?

Quick question. I want to stream me and my friends playing legit copies of Tri Force Heroes online. I know how to use NTRBoot Selector and Snickerstream to stream my 3DS to my PC. What I am unsure about is if I can stream to my PC and play a game online at the same time. Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks.

Did you select the correct allocation unit size prior to formatting your 128GB mircoSD card? On the 3DS Hacks Guide website it specifically mentions that 128GB microSD cards need to have an allocation unit size of 65536 if you want to use it without any issue, that is) on the 3DS.

Can't include the website link, sorry, new to these forums lmao but I hope you still have the CFW files that came from your 16GB microSD.

Just out of curiosity, how does one legally obtain the aes keys from their hacked 3DS? I've been messing around with the Citra 3DS emulator and their website says there are some system files that can be imported in from a real console to make the emulator better. The one thing I can't figure out is the aes keys so I can play decrypted game. Yes, I understand that I can just dump my carts decrypted to start and there are programs which will convert encrypted games to decrypted, and there is that aes_key.txt file in the wild that I can just use in Citra to play encrypted games. But for my own curiosity, I am trying to learn how to be 100% legal and legit but all my Google searches just leads me to the things I mentioned above. Anyone know how I can obtain those keys myself from my hacked 3DS? Thanks.

To my knowledge there is no legal way unless you rip them from your console very illegal to get off the internet cause their copyrighted code

I ended up using a different utility and it worked, unfortunately I had to go and redownload everything I had on the eShop again though. For some reason nothing transferred over.

The question is did you format the console at all during this process?

Unfortunately your cartridge is probably dying. :-( Same thing happened to me, and to a lot of other people. (If you leave it on the title screen, you will probably find that even the demo won't load.)

(The only thing I haven't tried so far is to borrow someone else's 3DS cart, but mine is not functional on two different systems, so I can be fairly sure it's the cart.)

There are rumors that some have been able to persuade Nintendo technical support to give them an eShop copy, but I've had no luck there. Some also suggest that it's possible to open up the cartridge and re-flow the solder, but there is no evidence yet that will work in all cases.

ETA: Reading your post again, I realize you're not actually running this game from a cartridge..? Did you install it from your cartridge, or from the eShop? If you downloaded a random .CIA, then that could have all sorts of other problems, of course.

Hello. I'm learning how to make cheats, and I'd like to know if is there an easy way to check if something is true or false in hex. I mean, what hex I'm looking for when I know flag [flagnumber] is true. I'm not sure if you understand me hahaha

you just need to put that stuff in luma/titles/title id/romfs. put the folders in there, and add game patching in luma settings where you press select at boot up. you can get the title id in fbi, not sure if there's an easier way.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."
