Upon receiving the Soundpeats for review, I was excited to explore the capabilities of these wireless earbuds. As someone deeply invested in music, I have high standards for exceptional sound quality and powerful bass. Surprisingly, these earbuds managed to exceed my expectations, especially considering their price point. However, while my Samsung earbuds offer white noise for noise cancellation, I can confirm that Soundpeats offer a similar feature. Granted, for the discerning audiophile, wireless earbuds inherently come with limitations, but don't they all?
When it comes to microphone quality, it's sufficient; the people I've spoken to haven't raised any concerns. I mean on my Samsung earbuds+ I would have problems on people hearing me, which weird from a multi billion dollar companies product. this problem was fixed on the Samsung galaxy FE's mics. In terms of comfort, these buds fit snugly for me, although comfort levels can vary among individuals. Truth be told, they are well-built considering their price. There are different ear tips to use if needed, the one’s which came with it were fine.
Design-wise, the buds are visually appealing. The transparent case is a clever addition, allowing me to quickly check if my precious buds are securely housed. However, as a dedicated Android enthusiast and loyal Samsung supporter, the noticeable resemblance to Apple AirPods didn't align with my personal preferences. But hey, everyone has their own tastes, right? I do love the magnet pull which it has, which makes it easy to fit while you don't play around for it to fit the case. I never use touch controls on earbuds which I disabled on this, as it can get messy when taking calls.
Let's dive into battery life – a respectable 7 hours of playtime, extending to a whopping 40 hours when paired with a fully charged case. While the absence of wireless charging may raise an eyebrow, it seems a deliberate choice, likely a cost-saving measure for us savvy consumers.
Connecting these buds initially had its challenges, mostly because I'm used to the seamless pairing of Samsung earbuds. However, once I got past the initial connection hurdles, it was smooth sailing from there.
Now, about the accompanying app – it may seem basic to some, but personally, it fulfilled most of my needs. Admittedly, there's room for improvement and additional features, but it served its purpose effectively. The equaliser option on the app itself is very basic with one option and another one is where you can put your own custom option which I'm not a big fan of, considering it could take a while to pick what you want. When you just want it ready and on the go.
Compared to my now old Samsung galaxy buds+ i hear now difference or those Samsung galaxy buds+ have made me deaf. When compared to my Samsung galaxy buds FE I can see a difference in that everything is more seamless but the price it's way more too, but of course has features which i will never use on the Samsung galaxy buds FE.
One feature which is missing is the find feature which Samsung both the Samsung galaxy buds+ and Samsung galaxy buds FE have is the find your lost buds. Soundpeats doesn't have this feature so if you lose you need to either track back or be lucky finding one of the buds.
I've put the aesthetic design in both the pros and cons, as the design is both a pro and a con. It's a personal preference, some people love it and some people will hate it. Some days when I use it I think apple did it first so I don't like it, but then I remember apple copied everything from everybody else and claimed it as their own so why shouldn't Soundpeats use this design?
My final thought is that Soundpeats is making a name for itself in the tech world but of course Rome wasn't built in a day. They still have some way to go to be on par with Bose but on the right track.
