  • Making excellent progress with the Lupin III visual novel for the GameCube, but we're in need of a translator to help finish up the game with Chapters 7 & 8. Graphics have just been cracked
    Starting this year off with a bang with the Mr Driller Drill Land translation, a lot to do, but we got an all-star crew together of various skill levels, this will def help me with project management and larger scale projects

    Its unfortunate that the translation community is starting to die. :(
    Sup NewGBAXL. Long time no sea. Working on any new awesome Wii projects?
    NewGBAXL
    NewGBAXL
    I've been finishing up some GameCube localizations as well as an editor for the Haruhi DS & Wii translation projects.
    These have been a great way to get a nice variety of experience graphical design & reverse engineering
    Rn I'm studying game dev at uni, and been taking more of a backseat in helping others get set up with other translations.

    Let me know if there's something cool I should work on
    Love the community :D

    Also hopefully tomorrow I'll get out the latest Kururin Squash! patch
    It fixes a bunch of minor issues the last version had
    - translated GBA minigame, opening.bnr, system text, custom boxart, it is now NTSC-U formatted, and there is no longer a need for the Gecko code patch to display text correctly.

    About the DVD Channel, How did You Make It?

    and Can You Make a Forwarder Version of the Disc Channel if Possible?
    NewGBAXL
    NewGBAXL
    the DVD Channel is effectively the Disc Channel forwarder but with slight modifications

    Anything interesting so far?

    Not really, I kinda took a break from that because of the JP translation

    Right now I'm working on hardmodding and selling Wii Minis

    Using your Wii Remote as a TV remote control is on its way!

    There are 2 parts - the config in the Wii Settings and the button that allows you to do so
    NewGBAXL
    NewGBAXL
    The button would have most likely appeared on the opposite side of the Wii Menu as the SD Menu icon.
    I am looking into why it is not appearing.

    cmnBtn.ash ("Common Button") includes all of the buttons on the bottom toolbar
    exBtn.ash ("Extra Button") includes the TV Remote Control button

    I have successfully loaded in the option in the Wii Settings for North American English Wiis! It works, but has not been translated yet, and will be modeled after WiiLink's translation of TV Companion Channel

    The Setting is region & language specific, so I have to go in and edit them.. not really something I want to do..
    Maybe someone else may enjoy it more..
    A couple of weeks ago I got a Zapper + Nunchuk for $15!
    Which means I now have all of the 1st party Wii accessories! (Balance Board, Classic Controller, Wheel, MotionPlus, Speak, Zapper)

    I also got a GameCube microphone and clip for $15 (got all of this from a retro games store 50 minutes away; a friend drove me)
    So I guess I'm collecting the GameCube accessories now!
    NewGBAXL
    NewGBAXL
    Which is easy because I just now need the GBA GCN link cable, DK Bongos, and Action Pad (dance mat)
    NewGBAXL
    NewGBAXL
    I did end up getting an Action Pad quite recently
    snoot from WiiLink24 is currently helping me get the translation injected
    Also, I am working on getting the Wii Menu Manual "compatible" with regular Wiis! (that is, display correct information)

    Currently it is only translated in American English for NTSC-U Wiis with GameCube support (RVL-001)

    Wii's Menu contains the source code for the calendar limit! (can't go past 2035) Which means, it can easily be edited!

    if( year > 35 )
    {
    year = 35;
    month = 12;
    date = 31;
    }
    After learning some new information, I might be able to boot WiiLink24's Set Personal Data from the Settings!

    What is that again?

    that the Settings portion of the Wii System Menu is entirely written in HTML/JavaScript and is easily modifiable, I just need to make a button that forwards to SPD instead of EULA
    17/33 non-original tracks (51.5%) on Mario Kart Tour were also on Mario Kart 7. All four DS tracks on Tour were the same four on 3DS.
    NewGBAXL
    NewGBAXL
    not including SNES tracks, 16/24 non-original tracks (66.6%) on Tour were also on MK7. I am guessing Tour & 3DS tracks are in similar formats, and theoretically the Tour tracks could be imported to MK7 with not too much trouble
    NewGBAXL
    NewGBAXL
    Tour tracks are too high poly for MK7 to handle, but MK8 can run them fine
    got a new phone today - the Moto G Power 2021! (I have a low budget..)

    And I figured out that I could expand my RAM (using internal storage) of my rooted tablet from 1.3GB to 3.5 GB!

    Translation has been finalized! The title has been changed to USB Flash Drive Memory Repair Program. If you have an opinion, please share because I don't want to be making a mistake

    My newest project is putting together an OFFICIAL Sin & Punishment 64 TRANSLATION TEXTURE PACK!
    NewGBAXL
    NewGBAXL
    There are 321 textures to replace. Vanit has done this already, but made custom textures. The Wii Virtual Console release includes official textures!
    NewGBAXL
    NewGBAXL
    I just have to dump the textures and rename them, then use Vanit's patch.
    NewGBAXL
    NewGBAXL
    I will not work on the project any further until I find a way to convert .t64 files to a viewable format like .png
    it seems my 3DS theme is no longer in GBAtemp OR ThemePlaza, now it is reuploaded

    I hate ordering stuff online if I can go buy it somewhere close to me, and everywhere anymore will give you a discount only if you order it online, bs. Should be a discount if I go pick it up, not order online.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    I love it for most things most stores you just shows the receipt online and they scan it

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Makes it easy for incompetent restaurant staff that don't know how to hear an order
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Mostly for big purchases, I want it in my hands before I pay. Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc) But yea if I can order online, then pickup at store is ok, but not all places offer that.
  • cearp @ cearp:
    > Like a tv, I trust picking it up myself, before I'd trust it being sent thru mail/delivery. (Broken screen, etc)

    Thing is, if you break it driving back to your house, it's your fault. But if the delivery driver damages it, it's not your fault.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Most people that haul big tvs have empty trucks or know enough not to set it face down
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Then I gotta send it back and wait another week or two. I have a pickup truck, with a extended cab, so no prob for me.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
