Fahrenheit 451
A good book that warns against people forgetting about free speech and the importance of books.
"You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them." -Ray Bradbury

Secret Sea
One of my favorites. It's a simple book about some men going out in search of a sunken ship with treasure.

The Oregon Files series
A series that I love, and you might like.

Sadly, fantasy seems to have a lot of shit books in my opinion, so I avoid it. I would recommend these 3 though, they are really good.

It might be easier to start with what you like. Equally fantasy is a rather broad term so if you can narrow it down then great. If you like it all then even better.

Personally I do quite well clicking around https://www.goodreads.com/genres/fantasy and also finding books I liked on it and then going through the "Readers Also Enjoyed"/you may also like thing from there. The looked up the second (the first did not seem to be listed) and did not recognise the authors there so I will bow out for now. I did also notice it said young adult which can work for me but not as often as far darker and more complex stuff.

I mostly stick to authors who have a history of quality . rick riordan . brian sanderrson and so on . which is why ruffwriter surprised me . he writes a webnovel called savage divinity and releases 3 chapters a week . ill admit that I'm completely addicted to his work

A modern man finds himself reincarnated in the body of a young slave with no skills and quickly fading memories. Follow his journey to find normalcy while living in a savage world, filled with myth and legends, monsters and Demons. Ditto re: Fahrenheit 451. A book so good I've read it twice.

The way that Latimer/Ridley quote was used ("Play the man, Master Ridley. We shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out.") in the book was chilling. That's a good word to describe what a lot of the book feels like.

I'm not normally a fan of fantasy but I have been reading a lot of it lately because of Neil Gaiman. His writing is superb. I've read The Ocean at the End of the Lane and I'm in the last couple of chapters of Coraline.

Terry Pratchett's Discworld series: a funny cultural parody series about a magical disk shaped world propped up by four (formerly five) massive elephants who themselves are standing on a great big space turtle. The Diskworld series can be broken down to multiple arks that each follow a specific cast.
Ian M. Banks Culture series: a more thought provoking series about an anarchistic universe ruled (shepherded, actually) by hyperintellignet AI overlords that cater to the whims of the humans
Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter's Long Earth series: Just getting into it now. About how humanity adjusts to the discovery that using a small homemade device powered by a potato you can jump to alternate Earths that are nearly identical save for the lack of humans.

That there is about 60 books (42 from the Diskworld series - not including the branch books like the encyclopedia) which should keep you busy for a while.
