there is a very slim chance, but for the most part all recent ps3's will come with firmware 3.56+ and are unmoddable.

im pretty sure its possible to flash back PS3's to an earlier firmware.

@bunie that isn't possible at all. You use to be able to do it with the jaibreak dongles on older firmware. not anymore.

They gimped service mode on the newer firmwares, so while you can get into service mode... you can't get out. So you'll need to send it to Sony to get it out of service mode, and they're more than happy to set it back with a working install... of the latest firmware.

I know this thread is ancient but...

There are a few move bundles on ebay that come with OFW 3.40 and 3.42. People here are saying that the move bundles are not hackable (for the most part). So my question is...

Are there ANY factors other than the factory installed OFW (being below 3.55) that can make a ps3 slim unhackable? o.O
