Hacking GeckoOS 1.9.2 + Source Code

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/GeckoOS GeckoOS is open-source again. WiiPower better know what this means (NeoGamma). And the USB Loader GX team better know what this means (the new GCT and GPF stuff, like region free codes). GeckoOS 1.9.2 Binary: http://usbgecko.googlecode.com/files/Gecko192.zip...

Gaming What GNU/Linux OS Are You Using?

I'm pretty sure I covered most of the popular bases in the main poll. I'm using Arch GNU/Linux. Switched from Ubuntu a while ago. I'm using Debian on the Wii (XWhiite) and Yellow Dog on the PS3. EDIT: BTW, note the ":P" in the last option. As in, I don't mean it. Don't take it seriously.

    Hacking Channel File Manager

It's a pretty useful combination of WAD Manager 1.21 and AnyTitle Deleter. Both of which are open-source and released under the GPL. (Or at least AnyTitle Deleter is) And if memory serves, you cannot have a closed-source version of something under the GPL. So really, just email CashMan to...

    Hacking Accidentally formatted SD Card

I accidentally formatted (I mean really good format, Photorec can't recover anything, stupid Truecrypt ) my SD card. So I'd be happy if anyone were to give me a backup of their SD.

    Hacking Why no image viewer?

Why is there no image viewer available for the Wii? I know you can show images. That's obvious. But there's nothing like you show the image, press 2 or whatever, a little menu comes up, you can choose to go to the file browser or next/last image. The only thing that views images so far that...

    Linux or Windows?

Personally, I prefer Linux. A unimaginably small list of malware and the easiness to theme GNOME and other window managers. And you have choices. And one of the biggest pluses for me is repositories. All the software I'd need and more. I don't know what people are saying when they say Linux...

    Hacking Updating via WADs

I Trucha-extracted IOS30-64-v1040.wad and SystemMenu-v289.wad from bushing's Semi-Brick fix. Since I don't have a modchip, I got those. Anyways, I was wondering how I could go about updating from them? Just install the IOS then the System Menu as normal WADs? Would it have any more risk of...

    PS1/2 PS3 Won't Read Disks

Yesterday when I was playing Guitar Hero 3 on Bulls on Parade in the pre-verse, it kept replaying over the wah part throughout the end of the song and when it had the "You Rock!" thing it kept playing the beginning of the fire noise until I turned it off. So now it doesn't read PS3 disks and I...

    Hacking Editing Brawl Saves

How much can we really do so far? Only WiFi stuff? Or can we do trophy stuff? I'll look around and probably not find anything. xP But other people should look. It'd be something to do.
