    I'm using OpenDNS and it works very well for me, but it failed on other people. Blocking the servers in the router is the most reliable method, but you said that's not an option. Whatever method you're going to end up with, the urls you need to block are in the first post of this thread.

    You got a Wii U at school? To answer your question: if you just block the update/eshop server you'll still be able to play online in most games. Splatoon doesn't work though as far as I know.

    It's fine to remove the parentheses, but you can't just pass None as arguments. One possible solution would be to use the * operator to pass x and y as separate arguments.

    Run it on Python 2 instead of Python 3. If you're randomly changing things without knowing what you're doing you're most likely just going to get more errors or unintended behavior, even if it doesn't seem like that at first.
