I made an online tool for converting save states from some online emulation sites to in-game saves

There are lots of sites that let you play retro games in the browser. I don't want to link to any here but you can find them easily with a google search. Often they only allow you to download a save state rather than an in-game save, meaning that if you want to bring your save over to another...

Hacking I made an online save file converter for different flash cart formats

You can check it out here: https://savefileconverter.com/#/flash-carts It can handle every kind of flash cart I'm aware of, plus the emulators and cores that are built in to some of them (e.g. GB on a GBA or N64 flash cart, or NES on a Genesis Everdrive). The only type of flash cart that's...

Can people please send me EZ Flash save files?

Perfect! Thank you! Thank you, yeah, I've been taking a look there. It's nice that someone has done this already: makes it easier for sure. I agree that it doesn't make sense, but I just want to cover my bases because I've seen conflicting guides posted in different places. So far I see some...

Can people please send me EZ Flash save files?

I definitely think all of this is in scope for the site! Yeah, please have a check about the EZ Flash Jr -- even if it does raw saves I'd like to add it to the site, so that people don't have to remember which cart does raw saves and which one doesn't, or to infer that one is raw by its lack of...

Can people please send me EZ Flash save files?

Thanks for all the info! Yeah, my understanding is that the conversion should be pretty simple: just a header/footer as you say. So it sounds like the most popular things where saves aren't raw are the EZ Flash Jr, and the Goomba emulator? And possibly the 3-in-1 manager software? Since the...

Can people please send me EZ Flash save files?

I'm the author of savefileconverter.com and I'd like to start adding support for flash carts, and specifically EZ Flash carts since I've heard that sometimes save files from them aren't compatible with emulators or other flash carts. I already have an EZ Flash ODE, but I don't have any other EZ...

I made an online tool that converts save files to emulator formats

That's an N64 emulator running on 3DS? If it doesn't load raw save files, then I'd recommend petitioning the devs of that emulator to allow loading of raw saves, then using this tool to convert the saves you're interested in into their raw format.

I made an online tool that converts save files to emulator formats

Is your concern being able to use it without an Internet connection? Everything on the site works in offline mode, and there's no server backend.

I made an online tool that converts save files to emulator formats

Hm, interesting usecase, and yeah GBA save sizes are a pain for sure. Yeah, you can use a workaround on the site by converting it to Gameshark and then back again. You can select the size when you make the conversion. I'll have to file this one away for further thought: making a whole screen...

I made an online tool that converts save files to emulator formats

Thanks! Yeah, PS2 support is on the horizon for sure, especially since it's a popular console and the current tool (MyMC) is a bit old. Currently I'm working on making it easier to decrypt PSP saves, so I don't have any sort of timeline but it's probably next on the list after that!

I made an online tool that converts save files to emulator formats

Yeah it seems that some GBA flash carts have a special format that's different from the "regular" emulator format. If you're interested, I'd love to get an example from you of the same game saved on that flash cart and an emulator, along with the name of the flash cart & the game. I can't...

I made an online tool that converts save files to emulator formats

The tool supports all the common formats for NES/SNES/GBA/N64/TG-16/SMS/Genesis/Neo Geo/PS1 saves found on sites like GameFAQs. You can check it out at https://savefileconverter.com/ I found that saves on those sites are often in largely-unhelpful legacy formats like DexDrive or Wii Virtual...

I made a web tool for converting N64 save files found on GameFAQs and other sites

I've been working on a save converter for retro game consoles, and I just added support for N64 files. My goal is to make all the saves on sites like GameFAQs usable in modern emulators or using modern tools to use them on real hardware. N64 files are really weird because they're either found...

Hacking I made a web tool to read/write PS1 saves on PSP

A little while ago I wanted to transfer some saves from my PS1 to my PSP and back again. It ended up being an incredibly confusing process of having to convert files to interim formats, and using one tool to write the PSP file and a different one to read it. And one of the tools only worked on...

    Hacking Wolfenstein 3D updated

Had a bit of trouble googling the link, but eventually found it: https://github.com/Wa59/wolf3Dpsp/releases/tag/6.1 Thank you for this! Looking forward to playing it! EDIT: Hm, the game seems to crash for me when I try to start the full version of either game. The shareware version of...

Hacking Any online list of gamekeys?

I've been working on a browser-based save file converter (https://savefileconverter.com/) and I've been thinking about adding PSP save decryption to it. From the reading I've done, some games' files are encrypted with a game-specific key, which can be gotten by installing a plugin on your...

Hardware Homebrew app I made a web tool that converts Wii VC saves to emulator saves

Update: https://github.com/JanErikGunnar has reverse-engineered the PC Engine format, and now the tool does those files correctly too. So now you can download a Castlevania: Rondo of Blood save from Gamefaqs and play it on an emulator :)

Gaming A link to the past/four swords help please

I just tried these and the second GameShark one loads fine for me in mGBA in OpenEmu on my Mac after I converted it. After converting the GameShark SP one it shows as blank to me in the game (not sure why -- took a quick look at the file and didn't see anything weird. Maybe a different version...

.gsv is a Gameshark *SP* file. There's also a page on that converter that will do GameShark SP files: https://savefileconverter.com/#/gameshark-sp

Gaming A link to the past/four swords help please

I'm not familiar with that emulator on that platform, but it sounds like you've done everything right. If you've converted the file from a Gameshark file to a raw/emulator file, renamed it to be the same thing as the emulator used, and put it in the right place (and it's the exact same size as...
