Hardware $250 Nintendo 3DS costs Nintendo just $101 to make?

I thought this was an interesting article regarding the estimated hardware costs of making the 3DS system.

I imagine alot of the non-hardware costs are for the massive promotions and advertising they've been running so once this is over and they stream-line the production lines and figure out how to make the hardware with less materials, signifigant future markdowns should be do-able.

I'm gonna wait for the markdowns or a 3DS-Lite version (I know they said there wasn't gonna be one, but still..). $250 is just too much for what the 3DS is offering IMO and I still have DS games I want to play, but don't really have the time to play.

Not only those things, Slyakin, but also the very expensive research and development costs. They probably had to manufacture several types of 3D smallscreen technology displays before deciding on the particular type of 3D they used (Parallax barrier or something)

Seriously, it's not hard to take a minimum amount of time to do a quick search.

I seem to remember something like this when Wii was first released.
150% profit is not abnormal believe me.
(Ps3 being an exception)
