I am new user on this forum, my first post.

I got a 2ds LL from Japan.
I cannot install custom firmware, because the steps requires to use browser.
The browser is disabled, to enable browser, I need to run gm9 script, which requires custom firmware.

I am on a deadlock.

I really need your advise.

Thank you.

from the other thread your multiposting in. You are quite screwed in using the internet browser. So. You have this way of another cfw route. Yes, it requires a flash cart. There aint any way to get around that.

Don't give up. I somehow got my 2DS LL (latest firmware, stock) to do the exploit. But the biggest challenge was getting the internet connection to work. It can't do hotspots that have a landing page where you have to agree to a TOS (Hotels, fast food, etc). Seems to want to ping a Japan server to confirm that you have internet, which gets redirected to such a landing page that doesn't send the expected data to pass the internet check. Until then, you get some error in the browser in Japanese like "The browser cannot be used at this time". I've since changed my firmware to English and see it all the time even still.

MSET9 procedure worked like a charm. Thank you.
My LL is brand new, so database was missing on SDcard, I had to reset under data management. Just like what the procedure said.

I believe I now have Luma.
But is still on Japanese language.

Now I need to re-read how to run gm9 script.

Any quick instruction how to run gm9 script, so that I could disable browser filtering?
So I could get back hacking LL (cfw) like I did on 2ds XL? (but I believe Luma means cfw already).

What to do next to make it english version, and install all the goodies like, homebrew, FBI, universal updater, hshop.

Yes, if you have installed Luma, then there is no point in worrying about the browser anymore!

If you followed all the instructions, you should already have FBI and universal-updater. If you can't follow instructions, you probably forget about "making it english version".

Next thing I did was change region by following this:
https://3ds.hacks.guide/region-changing

I found that I mess my network setting so decided to do factor reset.
Connect to wifi and did software update.

Then I did the finalized Step:
https://3ds.hacks.guide/finalizing-setup

I think I am good now..
My son's 2ds LL is now newly hacked, just like his 2ds XL when newly hack.

Can't thank enough for this forum..
I wish to hack somemore.. you guys make it easier. :)
