you still need to put the firmware on the device some how so you do still need a pc, though those who have crappy sata chipsets will be very pleased with this.
looks interesting, unnecessary if you have a pc with a compatible chipset, but still a handy tool if you do flash consoles for others.

Not at the moment no. There's currently no FW to flash onto the Slim DVD drive as of now. But you can still get yours keys from it.

getting the keys will allow to flash later when ixtreme starts supporting

Because dosflash (which I am told is compatible with freedos if you have a special dislike of MS) does not exist?

I am sure it will not be treated as such but it was not my intention to be antagonistic.

(making the bootable disk and stuff)
