Hi,
I just hacked a friend's n3dsxl using bs9. She's not a hardcore gamer and will use it lightly. So I just wanted to ask is it ok to update it to the latest firmware? If so what is the tradeoff? Thanks :D
You can safely update. Everything works on 11.4

Hi everyone.
I have but one question.
Is there any way for me to hide folders/ icons/ app/ title id (more specifically, luma updater, FBI, Homebrew menu, etc) inside my 3DS Home menu?
Is this even achievable?

My current 3DS info:
- Followed https://3ds.guide/ from stock to boot9strap. Currently having Godmode9, Luma, FBI, Themely, etc by following the guide.
- Now at Emunand sys 11.4, with the original stock version at v 11.3 and below (I guess you guys call it SysNAND?)
- Installed an official theme via Themely, with BGM in my 3DS

Thanks in advance to all pros out there helping newbies out. ^ ^
Really appreciate the help you guys provide =)
Guess this isn't a newbie question, since my post was ignored _| ̄|○
I'll try to create a thread to ask for help. Thanks guys.( ^ω^ )

I'm on gateway looking to switch to Luma so I can play online. Will my CIA saves transfer to Luma without having to convert them? Note they aren't .3ds saves but .cia saves. Here's an image of the files on the root of my SD

is getting a flash cart worth my time. will it get me banned? let me know.
Not worth it. Custom firmware can do basically everything a flashcart can. Except if you want to play old ds games, then you'll need a ds flashcard but they are cheap like below 10$

Your saves from CIA installs are stored on your SD card and encrypted. You won't lose them by changing your CFW or entrypoints. If you're worried, you can always back them up with JKSM before making changes to your setup. The only time you'll lose those saves is by formatting your SD card or uninstalling the game.

Saves from Gateway .3DS roms are encrypted differently than CIA saves and cannot be used interchangeably without a conversion to the correct format.

It's not necessary to update, it just allows you to go online without running anything else. You should finish the guide (or google SysUpdater, which means you'll have to get the update manually with 3DNUS)

Wow, this is news to me
Good thing I'm still not updating to latest b9s
You should though. It's a pain that you have to update manually but you can still update fine

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    @SylverReZ,
    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.

I even explained to him about file sizes multiple times...

    @Psionic Roshambo, Yeah, BonziBuddy was both spyware and ad-ware. It collected children's personal information without consent as well as display fake Windows popups.
