thanks, buy i'm not actually looking to run nds games. I'm looking to run 3ds games. sorry i should have been more clear. I've heard great things about Sky3ds+ flashcarts, but i can't find any googling. Does anyone have any opinions on this flashcard or a link to find them?
You should not use a flashcart to run 3DS games, for various reasons. Install B9S and Luma3DS instead.

Is there a way to pull the save file from a GBA VC game (in this case one I injected myself) and transfer it to my switch to use with retroarch?

Alternatively, is there a way to modify GBA VC games on my 3ds to work with the standard sleep mode instead of the button combination?

A few months ago, I updated my new 2ds but I forgot to update Luma3DS. I have the crash dump here

I think it's bricked for good, but I'm still posting it here just in case there's a fix to it

GBA VC saves are handled with godmode9.

Why would you think that? Just update Luma (boot.firm) on your SD card. If that doesn't work, then there may be something wrong with your SD card, and you should try a fresh one. Once it is booting again, you can update the internal copy of Luma with https://3ds.hacks.guide/finalizing-setup#section-vi---ctrnand-luma3ds .

I've fixed a few of these before by just copy and pasting the lastest luma boot.firm to to microsd.

Don't know if this is the right place to ask.
I'm having issues with Checkpoint. A homebrew program to backup saves.
The problem is that not every game shows up. Animal Crossing shows up fine and some VC games and 3DS games like Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario Maker.

But the problem is thta I actually want to backup my Fantasy Life save, which is not there. Why is that title missing and what can I do about it? Really want to backup that save.

Assuming you already held (B) for a while in Checkpoint to refresh the title list/cache and scrolled to the next screen if there are too many titles to fit on one screen, I have no idea why it doesn't show up. If the game has any extdata, press (X) to see if it shows up in the list of titles with extdata.

You can also try if JKSM is able to find and backup Fantasy Life.

Good luck!

Thanks. Will try that when I'm home again.
Does it also allow to restore it on another 3DS and Citra emulator?
My 3DS is at the end of its life, battery drains fast and if it's leaking, my 3DS will be dead,
So this is kinda important to me.

As long as the 3DS is still working, backing up is usually a piece of cake. So is restore on another 2|3DS with CFW. Checkpoint and JKSM decrypt and extract the saves and can inject them back easily on a different device.

They have official information about importing data intro Citra:
https://citra-emu.org/wiki/dumping-save-data-from-a-3ds-console/
https://citra-emu.org/wiki/dumping-extra-data-from-a-3ds-console/

It is worth noting that battery replacement on any DS other than the N2DSXL is extremely easy and takes less than a minute. If an end-of-life battery is the only problem it would be a waste to ditch the console because of this.

Thanks a bumch. Not sure if it's the only problem. 2 weeks ago I could play for 2 hours. Now not even more than 30 minutes, sometimes 15 minutes can cause it to turn off. Playing on charger works fine though. So how is it all of a sudden? Is that normal?

My 3DS isn't booting with the SD card. When i remove it, the console initiates normally. But when the SD Card is inserted, the blue light turns on, but the screen is black. I tried opening godmode9, but without sucess. Also, the SD opens normally in my notebook.

The SD was running normally, until the 3DS, randomly, displayed the message that it was removed. Then it stopped functioning, not even booting...

What to do? My Luma is on v. 10.2.1. Godmode9 is the lastest version.

Thanks. JKSM works! I got an error when selecting the game and couldn't open save.
Then I just did dump all and saw working on Fantasy Life, assuming the save was backed up along with my other titles ofcourse.

So I decided to take a look in FBI to see what's on the SD. I went to the save folder, but Fantasy Life wasn't there.
I went to the extdata folder and saw the game there. Does that mean the save is backed up in there?

Possibly. Some games save as exdata. I use checkpoint though.

I was using Checkpoint unless I found out the game wasn't there. So I use JKSM, but thanks to myself (lol) for checking FBI and finding out some games use extdata, pressing X in Checkpoint and some games that appeared to be missing, show up!
So yes, back to Checkpoint. The only thing I can't get to work is New Leaf cheats...
I press L+A in the game using the Rosalina Menu after applying the game cheats in checkpoint, press L+A for all slots 99k bells and doesn't work, why is that? I don't want to shake fruits like endlessly...
