I wanted to play some old pokemon games, and got my 3ds XL. I installed custom firmware on my 3ds years ago. I don't really know what exactly I installed anymore.
I was testing what cards still work (i have multiple R4 cards). On inserting one of them, my 3ds just turned off.
After turning it on again, my bottom screen stayed black. The touch screen does still work though.
If I wait long enough on the main screen I can even vagely see some icons on the bottom screen. If i scroll though the icons with the D pad, the icons I can see on the bottom screen don't refresh or scroll.
Anyone ever had something like this?
What is the fix? Should I replace my bottom screen?
I never opened my 3ds (not afraid to if necessary). I'm also sure there is no water damage or anything like that.
I can't see the bottom screen in recovery mode too. (If I wait long enough I can vagely see the bottom screen here too)

I ran an update through recovery mode.
Update was successful, but bottom screen still doesn't work.
