Thanks for pointing that out. So, it's still possible that Gateway won't fully support a 64GB MicroSD, still there's no way to test this out without MultiROM support.

yea cant really test its full compatibility without either getting a game over 32gb (none exist or ever will as far as i know) or multiple roms totaling over 32gb on the card..
id assume if they say sdhc only in their support emails its probably exactly like the dstwo limitation then.. dstwo site also says maximum size is 32gb sdhc for their card.. but sdxc works just has that addressing issue... basically the card cant see anything written past the 27gb mark.. but it reports the correct size (59.47gb) and everything it does read loads just fine...

It's really too bad we don't have confirmation yet, 64GB microsdxc is dirt cheap right now at Amazon.com, $34.99, I just can't spend the money on a 32Gb one at this price range without knowing if the 64gb will be supported.

Damn, went up to $ 47 since last night but I couldn't risk it, I have 3 to order for

SanDisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter SDSDQU-064G-AFFP-A

Um, I thought I already told you that it works fine...

We don't have multi-ROMs yet but if you use Win32DiskImager and put a ROM image on a 64GB MicroSDXC it works perfectly fine.

Are you positive it works? and what kind would that be exactly since i cant tell the difference between them and i hear of a lot of scams on ebay, what would you advice to buy?

You're in the US. Avoid ebay for SD and micro SD cards. You have access to a huge amount of online and local retailers who carry cheap official cards. I like the Transcend 64gb micro sdhx on amazon at 40 but the sandisk is great too.

Yes I'm positive it works.

I have a SanDisk one.

I've recently seen Gateway Support respond to people telling them 64GB isn't supported but may be in the future with multi rom. So while a 64GB card may support 1 game at a time, it won't work when it comes to placing > 32GB of roms for multi rom or at least not until they support it.

I would probably still buy one just to have it and I would keep 32GB of data on it until they supported it, I think it's important point to clarify before you tell people that the Gateway supports 64GB.

Just buy a 32 gig, done deal. That is what I have in my N64 flash cart and it works fine. Instead of wondering and pondering if SDXC works, since it is labeled SDHC I knew it would have a higher likely hood of working and so then I ordered it and then it did work.

32 gig card, on a deal, costs half as much as a 64 gig on a deal... so it is fine, plenty of space. Btw what are you going to store on a 64 gig card with the gateway3ds? one 4 gigabyte file? :D lol

Wrong.

SDXC is exactly the same as SDHC except pre-formatted with a different file system in software.

Devices that are ratified to work with SDXC mean that they support the software default formatting exFAT. Devices supporting SDHC will support SDXC cards no problem as long as formatted with NTFS/FAT32, the only potential problem is if the device is hard coded to have a capacity limit. Much like the PSP for example where it's firmware was only designed to be able to address 32GB cards maximum. This is purely a software limitation though.

The difference between SDHC and SD cards on the other hand is more than just software and it's very common for devices that work with SD cards to not work with SDHC.

Think again...

And maybe they can do a split iso but i dont know if is possible.
