You should probably decompress them first. (if it is a format EFE supports and the compression format aswell, it will decompress it automatically) I think it is LZ77 or LZ11. You can use EFE to decompress aswell (Tools->Decompress)
Open it in a hex editor to see which format it is. Remember the extension doesn't especially say anything about the format.so it turns out it was compressed with LZ11 so I decompressed it, but it gave me another .bin file? This time is it _LZ_dec.bin

Make a screenshot of the first part of the file (in the hex editor) and post it here. How do I see the format?
Yep, it's just a bcmdl model. You could have opened the files with EFE directly.

uld you link me to the tools please palAre you trying to open a file from OOT/ Majora's Mask? If it's the case, I can help you, because these files are 3d models, and I can open them (I did it with MM/OOT).
Could you link me to the tools please pal
Cheers palOoT/MM3D? https://github.com/xdanieldzd/N3DSCmbViewer ("releases" tab) - Note that it's no longer maintained, so if you or anyone else encounter problems with it, you're on your own.
Also, on topic, the models in question are not from OoT/MM3D. These games use cmb (two different versions) and not CGFX, and there's no "_LZ.bin" files (OoT3D has no compressed files IIRC, MM3D's are .lzs).
It's a CGFX, try to open the file in Ohana3DS, "Texture" tab
