so I've been thinking about a way to do a sys transfer from my N3DS to my O3DS, And I had an Idea. would it be possible to preform a MITM to trick the systems/nintys servers into thinking that they're compatible?

Maybe, or it could be done with a modded Luma3DS.
I think it would almost certainly be possible. It might not be as simple as setting the n3DS flag to 0 on the n3DS or to 1 on the o3DS, maybe they're checking the serial number or something, but we have full access to the console so we can change almost anything we want.

well it it could be done with just luma, 3ds.guide wouldn't limit dsiwarehax from o->o and o -> n

that could be true. so is it known where the sys transfer checks to confirm 3ds model?
Sys transfer gets info from and communicates with the servers. AFAIK its already been looked into and it may be impossible. Also impossible to do mitm attacks as it communicates with ninty servers with ssl. I would love to be proven wrong though.

I've never used system transfer on wii u. On 3ds it transfers either completely wirelessly or partially wirelessly and partially SD transfer. But before it does anything it verifies things like system version, installed titles, and how long ago the previous transfer was (only once per week).

There is no need to trick the servers because you don't do this via system settings; it's a CTR transfer. Moving the NNID is a matter of clearing the registration from one (phone call or system format), then registering the other. You just either have to call Nintendo or wait a week in between the two.

Sorry, I meant when talking to ninty's servers.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
