I just came across a very good and frightening point about Artificial Intelligence in Reddit by an user. I quote:

What's your point of view in this statement regarding the seemingly future Internet overtaken by AI/Bots?

Nothing else for me to say as I don't know much about this. I'm not very much interested in the future or the way we (as species) communicate with each other. But I do have some opinions regarding spreading and accepting ideologies I do not share. Depending on discussion, I might share my point of view. In the meantime, I'd love to read your thoughts.

I think he's right, unfortunately. Bots are already making sure you pay twice what you should for that PS5 you want. And captchas are not the solution either, when some idiot in India is being paid one dollar for every 100 captchas he solves for those bots.

To be fair it fairly obvious that a lot of articles on 'news' sites are writting by AI, they ramble on for 5 or 6 paragraphs without actually saying anything, just repeating the article title in a hundred different ways without actually expanding on the story.

It's alsready too late to save us from so called 'AI'.

My view point on this is this can turn very dangerous I feel like we are heading towards the movies too much. The fact that you can just feed it the absolute garbage of the Internet to make more garbage. The stuff we post on the Internet is disgusting and this is the first impression of us as a species that we are showing something we are trying to teach to be like us. We really want to give it the absolute garbage we call the Internet unhinged with all his bad spots. There are plenty of uses for AI with this approach we have taken that can lead us to a utopia but realistically this is just looks like it will lead us to a dystopian ruin of a civilization

AI will be used as a political tool to spread missinformation and push government agendas. Those that tend to group think will believe all the non-sensical crap it can come up with. Those with their own working brain will see through the crap. It will no doubt be used on dating websites, you'll think you've scored some hot tottie and all the time you'll be chatting to an AI.

Just wait until AI pleasure models become a thing - we will become extinct. Men will be sent to milking colonies where they are chained up and "milked" for sperm, women will be replaced for birthing pods. AI will use us to mine for minerals to make new AI's.......we're doomed, doooooooomed I tell you!

Companies would probably weaponize this to maximize profits. We already have algorithms that manipulate human emotions to stay on a platform. (hello facebook)

Honestly the only solution is to ditch capitalism. Either we grow with the tools we have, realize we can't foster an environment that put's profit's first over ethics. Or we all get fucked by corporate overlords.

don't buy iphones, they are terrible repair wise. And no not latest PC either.
Secondly, even if someone had the latest, your argument isn't exactly reasonable. Jobs require often now to apply online. Which with the web evolving as it does, it requires for better hardware. Or the company wants you to use their login portal to manage or change your information. Or require 2fa, which may require a smart device capable of generating a code if they don't allow sms.

I'm sure Jordan Peterson has few fans on gbatemp and that's ok cuz he's like, old to most of you guys.
