I have a suggestion. Please include also in the main screen the current version atmosphere is running and if there are new updates available.

Hi everyone!

Just want to firstly say a huge thank you for the positive response to my app, it really does mean a lot. Also thank you to Natinusala and M4XW for sharing my app on twitter!

More great news, I have released version 0.4.1 which comes with a more fully featured hekate support:
  • Option to overwite atmosphere ini files when updating hekate.
  • Make the Hekate update option more clear that it is for Hekate / kosmos users.
  • Copy hekate payload as update.bin to "/bootloader" so that the latest version of hekate will always be loaded with modchips / rcm injectors.
  • Copy fusee-primary.bin to "/bootloader/payloads" after selecting update Hekate + Atmosphere.
  • Load switch font buttons from memory!
  • Cleaned up code a lot, added a few comments.
  • Cleaned up the look of error messages (should you ever see them!).
So to summarise, if you're a Hekate / Kosmos user, than the update hekate option is for you.

Latest release is here https://github.com/ITotalJustice/atmosphere-updater/releases

Remeber you can also update the app from the app itself ;)

I wanted to say that there was an option to be able to select to update hekate (without kosmos)
Kosmos is just an AiO (all in one) .zip file that contains a bunch of homebrew, ams and hekate already set up for you.

I don’t update any apps or anything else, just atmosphere / hekate. Hope that clears any confusion :).

So, to clarify, it doesn't install the rest of homebrew and modules from kosmos

That is correct. When you select update hekate, it will only update hekate itself. No extra homebrew is installed or updated.

The only time anything extra would be installed is if you select the option to update hekate, and then select yes to the pop up box asking if you would like to update atmosphere as well, which would then update atmosphere and then hekate for you.

However, if you did want a kosmos updater for all your apps, there is also a kosmos updater https://github.com/AtlasNX/Kosmos-Updater

This is a much needed app, thanks for putting it together! The way I update atmosphere is replace old files, add fusee-primary.bin to bootloader/payloads, and rename hekate's payload to reboot_payload (Since I like to be able to swap SD cards). This app does all of that which is great!

Nice job, submit your app to homebrew app store, I remember you are asking for how to learn programming some months ago in Discord and now you contribute to community.
Haha you remembered! Yup only started learning at the beginning of April. I’m starting to uni to study computer science tomorrow, so I hope that I can further contribute back, I have so many ideas! :yayswitch:

Great work!

I think that will be great to have a menu with advances options that let you edit .ini files from atmosphere.

can you make an option/feature to copy hakate payload as payload.bin to the root of sd card ? Some rcm injector (like r4s dongle) use that payload.bin

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
