I played BOTW on WiiU for over 150 hours. No problems at all, some frame drops but not big deal. It was a really good experience!

Now I have a Switch and played a bit. Using the joycons is horrible, not comfortable when together with the grip, and separated is weird to play. I think BOTW was made to play using the NS Pro Controller.

Didn't try to play as handheld but I think it's the only advantage playing BOTW with NS.

What do you think?

Joycons are a horrible way to experience the game imo. I like the concept of the joycons but they are just way too small to be enjoyable to use

imho most games are better with the pro controller. Joy-cons is too gimmicky.
But it's nice to have options!

Yes, this! Joycon is good for games like 1-2-Switch but it's too small for games like BOTW, imo.

Pro controller is nearly essential for every game in my opinion, but they are expensive as hell here too. If joycons were the only option, I would have got rid of the Switch long time ago I think. They're pretty terrible for any and all games....but, at least they're better than touchscreen controls or something for handheld mode. I don't think Nintendo thought that one through properly... Pro controller leaves some things to be desired as well, but you might as well get one or two right now while you can - Nintendo stuff never go down in price and the second hand market will gouge you even more than what Nintendo already does when stuff start getting OOP :(

The JoyCons are really nice with silicone grips, makes them way more comfortable to hold.
The Pro Controller is still the best though.
But you can't really say the Wii U version is better just based on that. Wii U doesn't come with a Pro Controller either. The Switch version has better graphics and less lag.

I'm very comfortable using the WiiU gamepad. Don't have a Pro Controller.

personally, I use joy cons for anything with motion controls or require the pointer. with captain toad, for example, I use a mix of both. I hate that the joy cons have no dpad, as it's awkward for me to play a 2d platformer with the analog sticks. also, I find the joy cons too small. this is how I feel about playstation controllers as well. I like the ergonomic feel of the 360 controller which was refined with the pro controllers.

Yeah, joycons kinda suck if not using their gimmicks.
I rather enjoy using my DualShock 4 and Wii U Pro Controller instead.
As for BOTW being better on Wii U, that has been known for a while.

So wiiu is better because joycons? lol that makes no sense

wii u doesn't come with wiiu pro controller, and the wiiu gamepad is far worse than switch in portable mode.

Switch plus switch pro controller >>>>> than wiiu +wiiu pro controller

switch portable >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>wiiu gamepad

seriously it has higher resolution on tv and higher resolution in portable than game-pad in 480p, less frame-drops overall and its actually portable and not just 3 meters from your wiiu.

wiiu is great but botw has no advantages over switch version.

I have a wiiU and the pro controller for it, the joysticks and buttons are exactly the same, only the layout and shoulder buttons changes.
The wiiU gamepad has excellent controls, biggest problem for me is the color compression introduced by the wirelesses connection that makes the colors kind of bland.

The switch version wins visually because of the 720p native (in portable mode), but the downsampling to 480p in the wiiU gamepad looks good too (besides color compression).
Performance on the wiiU can be good if game is updated and installed directly on the system NAND.

Having the 2 versions available, i'm playing it on the switch in portable mode. Awesome experience for an handheld.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
