I got ReiNX on my Switch about a year ago, and had Switch version 8.0.1. I blocked updates on our home network, but my brother still got it connected and it began downloading the update. I had told him to not update, so I guess he freaked out and (or so he tells me, I don't know the full story) tried pressing the power button until it shut down. I had enabled AutoRCM from the ReiNX toolkit, so it wouldn't boot. Anyway, this was a week ago and he didn't decide to tell me until now. The Switch only gets to Hekate, but crashes when loading ReiNX. I tried using Atmosphere but it also crashes when loading the CFW. I thought the update might have gotten corrupted, so I looked up a guide on ChoiDujourNX to install 8.1.0 (latest supported by ReiNX), but it seems to be Homebrew menu only. I don't know what to do, and I'm spending Christmas Eve trying to get it working by tomorrow. Anyone know what to do/ have any ideas?

You could try using a CFW solution that supports 9.1.0 and see if you have any luck. Otherwise I suppose if you have your nand back up, you might be able to restore that?

I was thinking of restoring the backup, however it's a very old version (before exFAT support) and I don't want to deal with burnt fuses. If it's my last resort, I'll try restoring it. For now, I'm trying to use ChoiDujour from desktop.

ReiNX doesnt support 9.1.0 so the only options are either Atmosphere or the latest SXOS beta of you want to avoid downgrading again. That way you dont have to flash a clean nand and you wont lose all of your saves.

I was just about to post the same thread. I had not booted up my switch since I long time and I connected it to a new network and it has downloaded an update.
Last time it append I just rebooted and the update was gone. This time however it didn't ; it shows error 2101-0001 in both cfw and ofw.

If you have anything new on the subject, please let me know. I have a nand backup and all my saves are backed up however my nand backup is from FW 3.0. And I think my 8.1 switch will be completly broke if I restore it because of the efuses.

I felt really lucky to find this thread. I can still boot Hekate if it can help

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option

True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
